一、基于文本解读的I can say & do 的表现性任务与动态评价标准
在“人与社会”主题的引领下,本单元以“日常生活”为话题。从单元大概念视角出发解读,可看出本单元的主要内容是“我”的一天,整体语境为学生讨论日常学习生活作息及周末活动安排。A 部分主要通过Zhang Peng 询问新朋友Pedro 在西班牙的学习与生活作息情况,让学生感知西班牙与中国的作息时间的不同及原因。B 部分由Sarah 的周末活动安排导入,之后学生们讨论了自己周末的活动安排。由此,形成了本单元二位一体的结构化课程内容——围绕“我的日常生活”主题统摄了“学习生活”和“周末生活”两个分支。通过本单元的学习,学生能够听、说、读、写五个有关日常作息活动的词组:do morning exercises, eat breakfast,have...class,play sports,eat dinner 以及四个日常活动的词组:clean my room, go for a walk, go shopping, take a dancing class,能在语境中问答或描述日常作息和周末活动安排。通过真实语境交流,学生能够感知合理安排的重要性,认识到需要适当调整自己原来的日常作息和周末活动安排,使其更具合理性、健康性和多样性。
本课时作为A 部分的第二课时,是一节词汇课,依托“Pedro 的一日作息表”这一图文语篇营造的文本语境,带学生走入真实语境,让学生学会运用新词组询问他人,并回答自己的日常生活与学习作息。在A Let’s talk 呈现的文本语境中,我们已经从Zhang Peng 和Pedro 的交流中了解到Pedro 在西班牙的部分生活作息情况,本课时是上一课时的拓展与延伸,通过Let’s learn 部分学习,学生们将对Pedro 的日常生活作息有更全面、深入的了解,进而认识到西班牙生活作息特点与中国的迥异。在Let’s learn 板块的语用输出板块Ask and write 中,文本通过学生与同伴之间调查生活作息情况的活动,使学生能在真实生活语境中运用“When do you do morning exercises/...At...”交流运用五个日常作息活动的新词组,而且能够在此基础上滚动运用更多的作息活动旧知, 如“get up, do homework, go to bed”等。同时,在单元大概念视角下用关联解读的方式看,学生在四(下)Unit 2 What time is it?中,能够用“It’s...It’s time for/to...”来表达应该在什么时间做什么事;在五(上)Unit 2 My Week 中,能够用“What do you have on...? I have...Do you often...on...?”来谈论自己一天的主要活动。因此,本单元的学习目标可指向调动学生已有的知识储备,解决新的学习问题。本课时的表现性任务可以指向给予学生滚动应用旧知的机会,联合时间、学习课程、周末活动等要素,使任务的呈现具备表现性、综合性、多元性和独特性。
除了要基于单元大概念视角从语境、语篇、语用等微观角度解读文本的知能目标,获得表现任务设计的有力依据,更需要从指导思想即主题意义提炼的宏观高度审视文本,从而形成符合表现性任务“有主题意义性、富建构空间度、具素养全息性”特质的高质量任务。循着学生的认知特点与学习心理,可将文本主题意义提炼为“探寻张鹏新朋友Pedro 与众不同的西班牙生活作息”,激活学生的好奇心与求知欲;进而推进情节发展、深化主题意义,递进为“为留学生Pedro 设计健康多彩的中国作息”,实现第一次迁移输出;然后,链接生活真实,可升华主题意义为“设计我们自己健康多彩的新作息”,实现第二次真实的创造性输出。
在一次次主题意义引领下,本课时的表现任务可以设计为:以图文结合的形式为国外留学生制订中国作息表,帮助留学生们更快地融入中国的文化。这一表现性任务,不仅仅需要设计符合个人特质的充满真实气息的生活作息表,又需要设计出既彰显独特爱好又兼顾运动健身的高品质生活作息表。故在四个基本维度的基础评价标准上,二度补充的动态评价标准为:Cultural diversified Timetable(文化体现合理性),Healthy Arrangement (作息安排健康性)和Colorful Activities(活动呈现丰富性)。引导学生在设计作息表时既要考虑到健康的作息时间和丰富的活动内容,而且要根据不同的留学生的文化背景、性格特点、爱好等因素,制订一个健康合理、有个性特色的作息时间表。这样的评价标准导向的是学生在深度理解主题意义基础上会乐于灵活运用已知已学去经历生动建构、多元思维、创新表达自己真实思想的过程,与语言能力同步提升的是思维品质、学习能力和文化意识。
二、I can say & do 的表现性任务实施案例与剖析
(一)任务设计
【任务名称】Make a Timetable for the International Students
【任务说明】两人一组,以图文结合的形式为国外留学生制订中国生活作息表,帮助留学生们更快地适应中国人的作息习惯。你选择的一名留学生,可以是课本中的留学生,也可以是你身边的留学生,关注他(她)的兴趣爱好、性格特点,特别关注作息时间表的私人专属性。期待你的分享哦!

【设计说明】本节课的任务设计结合词汇课特点,将任务表现形式设计为图文性展示型作品,一方面,通过作品的设计,强化词形、词义的理解;另一方面,通过作品的介绍,强化词汇的语音及语用。此外,Cultural Diversified Timetable(文化体现合理性),Healthy Arrangement(作息安排健康性)和Colorful Activities(活动呈现丰富性)这三个评价维度,引导学生要制订一个健康的、合理的、个性化特色的学习生活作息表。

【任务示范】T: Pedro is from Spain.He likes sports very much.Pedro likes music, too.He is interested in Chinese culture.So, Zhang Peng and his friends made a new timetable for him.Let’s enjoy it together.(教师展示示范视频)
S1: Look! This is Pedro’s new timetable in China.In the morning, he gets up at 6:30,and then he does morning exercises before breakfast.He goes to school at 8:00.
S2: Pedro likes sports, so after finishing class at 3:40 p.m., he plays sports or does some kung fu on the playground.
S3: Pedro goes home at 5:30 p.m.After dinner,he does some homework in his studies.
S4: Pedro likes music very much.He often listens to music from 7:30 p.m.to 8:30 p.m.He also plays the erhu.Pedro goes to bed at 9:00 p.m.What do you think of Pedro’s timetable?

【导航解读】对于大多数学生来说,制订自己的作息表难度不大,但为国外留学生制订在中国的作息表,学生是缺少实际操作经验的。既要帮助留学生快速适应中国学生的日常作息活动,又要将作息活动安排得合理、丰富,导航单起了很大的作用。首先,导航单决定任务的总达成方向——帮助留学生制订“专属”的作息表。而后从呈现日常活动、体育活动、文娱活动三方面入手,为学生提供需要考虑的因素,并且通过勾选的方式提供思路,又在每个选项上给予学生自主发挥空间。比如在文娱活动的安排上,学生考虑到了剪纸、京剧等活动,既符合留学生来中国学习中国传统文化的需求,又体现了学生对中国传统文化的了解。因此完成导航单为后续任务的实施奠定了扎实的基础。

【准备说明】在任务布置环节,教师首先要告知任务操作的步骤,并让学生们在课堂内先进行讨论、预设。在学生讨论的过程中,教师要尽可能参与其中,及时发现问题、提供帮助。在讨论之后,可以先邀请几组同学汇报自己的想法,教师对其提出指导意见的同时,其他学生也能找到灵感,激发思维。教师尤其是要提醒学生注意在制作时间表时要关注他(她)的兴趣爱好、性格特点。由于此次表现性任务的任务对象是一名留学生,因此学生还需要时间去收集留学生的国籍、文化等信息。

【学生作品解读】课内展示时间有限,教师应尽可能选取有代表性的、有借鉴意义的作品让学生品评,由点及面,在有限的时间内给学生以最有针对性的指导与学习。在以上两个作品中,作品一为书本人物Oliver 制作了一张作息时间表。考虑到Oliver 的爱好是音乐,因此在安排作息的时候留足了时间让他能够好好享受音乐。Oliver 希望能够了解中国传统文化,学校里的京剧社团正是一个好的活动项目。整个作息时间安排很合理健康,是一张不错的作息表。作品二为学生自己的留学生朋友Jane 制作了一张作息时间表。Jane 喜欢阅读,所以放学后可以去图书馆。她性格腼腆,但是又希望能够交到更多的朋友,因此去参加英语沙龙是一个很好的交友途径。此外,她还可以学学中国的传统剪纸,学习中国传统文化。作息表画面生动可爱,色彩鲜艳,安排合理,作息健康,十分不错。在呈现和点评的过程中,我们欣喜地发现在新增的表现性评价标准Healthy Arrangement(作息安排健康性)和Colorful Activities(活动呈现丰富性)的导向下,学生的作品有了明显的质的提升。学生不仅能用目标语言完成基本的描述和介绍,达成知能目标,并且能够在作品中真实地考虑到作息安排的健康合理性,留学生的兴趣爱好、性格特点等因素。
