一、题材内容与学习目的

本文主要介绍了我国著名的三峡大坝工程。通过对大型建筑工程的介绍，使学生能够了解它给社会环境、经济所带来的日新月异的变化。

二、教学目标

学生能识别新学词汇、短语并推断出意思，能正确理解介绍长城、香港机场及三峡大坝工程的短文，能正确理解限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句的不同功能，能快速把握每一段的主旨大意，并运用本模块所学词汇和短语，完成相关的书面练习。

三、学习策略

学生能够从自然（natural）和人造（man-made）角度归纳一些常见的名词，学会从形式和功能两个方面识别限制性和非限制性定语从句，能够以著名建筑工程为话题与外国友人进行口头交际。

四、文化情感渗透

学生能够增进对著名工程和当今世界的发展和变化的了解，能够开阔眼界，增强民族自豪感、世界意识和时代责任感。

Step 2:Lead-in

用多媒体给学生展示长城、香港国际机场、三峡大坝的图片，并让学生说出关于这三大人造工程的一些信息，从而开拓学生视野，激发学生兴趣，为下一步阅读The Three Gorges Dam作铺垫。

播放毛泽东的诗词《水调歌头·游泳》，向学生指出“更立西江石壁，截断巫山云雨，高峡出平湖”是我们伟大领袖毛泽东的梦想，他的梦想已经成为现实，由此引出阅读的文章The Three Gorges Dam。
