书面表达题是高考英语试题的压轴题。考生要想在书面表达题中获得高分，必须了解书面表达题的评分标准。请看高考书面表达题评分标准的第五档（21～25分）中的“有效地使用了语句间的连接成分，使全文结构紧凑。”这条评分标准充分说明了在书面表达中应用连接词的重要性。在写作时，学生可以把连接词用在“启、承、转、合”这四步中，使写出的书面表达流畅自然。

一、“启”——创造良好开端

表示“启”的连接词常用于段落的开头或文章的开头，其作用是开篇点题，引出扩展句。通过使用这种连接词汇，作者可以引起读者的注意，引导他们进入文章主题，并且清晰地表达所要论述的观点。这类连接词或短语常见的有：first， nowadays/recently， to begin/start with， generally speaking， As the proverb says/As the saying goes， with the development of等。

例1：Recently/Nowadays， there has been an increase in concern among citizens in metropolitan areas about air pollution.

例2：Generally speaking， the more you immerse yourself in a foreign culture， the better understanding you gain of its language.

二、“承”——顺势承上启下

表示“承”的连接词常用于承接主题句或在第一个扩展句之前，这些表示“承”的词汇有助于让文章结构清晰、层次分明，让读者能够更好地理解文章的内容。考生在文章中使用这些连接词汇，可以使文章的逻辑关系更加明确，让每一个段落之间都有一个自然的衔接点，从而使整个文章看起来更加连贯和完整。所以，同学们在写作时使用表示“承”的連接词有助于展示自己的写作技巧和水平，获得批卷老师的青睐，提高得分率。这类连接词或短语常见的有：also， secondly，besides， whats more， in addition， additionally， meanwhile/at the same time， as far as， worse still等。

三、“转”——巧妙转折过渡

表示“转”的连接词在文章中的作用是将文章的内容从一个方面转换到另一个方面，用来表示相反的或不同的情况或意见，以使文章的逻辑层次更加明晰。在使用这些连接词时，同学们需要注意将转折的新思路清晰地呈现出来。同时，合理运用这些词汇能够使文章更加生动活泼，增强文章的表现力，让读者有更深刻的印象。这类连接词或短语常见的有：however， but， on the other hand， contrary to， whatever/no matter what you say， whether you believe it or not， as a matter of fact， otherwise， in spite of， despite 等。

例1：Despite my initial reservations and doubts about the trip， I was pleasantly surprised to find that it turned out to be an enjoyable and memorable experience.

例2：However， it wasnt until the final pages of the novel that I understood the true message behind the author's writing.

例3：In spite of modern advancements in medicine， there is still a need for constant research and innovation to combat new diseases and illnesses.

四、“合”——完美结束全文

表示“合”的连接词在文章中常用于小结段落中，用来引导结尾句或者用来引导最后一个扩展句，表示段落的结束。这些词汇的使用不仅可以使小结段落的结构更加严谨，而且可以很好地将上文的内容汇总、概括，以便让读者更好地理解文章的主旨。这些词汇在文章中的作用是引导读者理解全文的主题、意图和论点，同时起到了总结归纳、达成结论的作用。这类连接词或短语常见的有：all in all， in conclusion， on the whole， in a word， to sum up， to put it simply ， in short， ultimately等。
