一、基于文本解读的I can imitate & talk 的表现性任务与动态评价标准

在本课的迁移创新环节,教师往往会让学生从祖孙两代人视角,谈论自己学校的时代变迁。但在对话中不难发现,虽然是谈论自己的学校,但其内容和文本中的大同小异。很多家庭祖孙两代并不是真的在同一个学校学习,缺乏情感共鸣,对话过程“为问而问”。这样的活动看似是文本学习的拓展延伸,但其实依旧披着“机械操练”的外衣。语言是情感与思维的产物,究其原因,是缺乏主题意义的引领,导致学生情感体验不足、思维探究不深、建构空间不大、素养提升不够。只有提炼主题意义,才能形成、设计出符合“有主题意义性、富建构空间度、具素养全息性”特质的高质量任务。通过再一次研读教材,主情境图中的校史纪念馆这一情境使我们从对主题意义的挖掘中得到了启发。纪念馆中老照片与校舍模型,Wu Binbin 看到老校舍模型时欣喜的表情,以及Grandpa 和Wu Binbin 指认照片中人物的动作与表情,都在生动地传递着人物的内心情感。可见,学生对“今与昔”的理解需要建立在具体形象的图、文、影像基础上,才能真正有自己的感悟。此外,还需要设置恰当的人物角色,让学生依托人物角色更好地表达自己的发现与心灵的震撼。

为此,本单元的表现性任务为:我是新闻发言人。以Changes 为主题,开展主题式调查研究,并创新设计展示形式。在作品展评过程中,除了音义理解准确性、语言运用灵活性、语言表达的多样性、交际策略的使用性等基础评价标准,还新增了Special Perspective(视角选择的独特性)、In-depth Research(调查研究的深刻性)以及Creative Production(展示形式的创意性)等标准。使学生独特地观察与思考身边人与物的变迁、进行深入地研究、创意设计与展示。

二、I can imitate & talk 的表现性任务实施案例与剖析

(一)任务设计

【任务名称】Be a spokesman

【任务说明】时代的发展日新月异,人们的生活发生了很大的变化。两人一组,一人当新闻发言人,一人当记者。通过对话,展示你们的独特发现,让更多的人听到中国发展的声音,可创意设计发布会形式哦!

【设计说明】为Changes 代言、做一名新闻发言人这一挑战性任务极具主题吸引力,给足了学生语言建构空间,自然促成了学生有话想说、有话可说的表现状态。

(二)任务介绍与示范

【任务示范】T: Boys and girls.We know the changes in Binbin’s school.What about our school?Your classmate Yao Yong will be our principal and show the reporter the changes in our school.Welcome Mr Yao.(教师呈现图文展示材料及示范视频)

Principal: Ladies and gentlemen.I’m Yao Yong,the principal.Today, it’s the Open Day of our school.I hope that you can have a lovely day here in Aishan.

Reporter: Good afternoon, Mr.Yao.We know your school is very old.

Principal: Yes.It was small and old.But our students also had a lot of fun.They often roll iron hoop on the playground.Look.They played pingpong on a cement table.They didn’t have a library at that time.But they had lots of small comic books like these.Students enjoyed them very much.

Reporter: It was really a famous school in Huzhou.As we all know, in the past few years,Aishan has changed a lot.

Principal: Thank you for your attention.In the past, the buildings were not tall.Now, you can see taller buildings in our school.Now, we have a big and clean library.Students can enjoy their reading.

Reporter: That’s wonderful.

Principal: We had a gym in our school.Students can play basketball, play ping-pong, run and swim there.

Reporter: It sounds cool.And I can see more students and teachers in our school.

Principal: Yes.There are 60 classrooms in our school.We have art rooms, music rooms, science rooms and computer rooms.

Reporter: It is really becoming better and better.I hope Aishan will keep moving.A bright future is waiting for Aishan.

【范例评价】T: How do you like their dialogue?Is it good? How many stars can they get? Let’s have a look!

Standard 1: Authentic Expression.They can talk with beautiful intonation and pronunciation.I love their voices! So 3 stars for them.

Standard 2: Accurate Expression.They can talk freely and correctly.So, 3 stars.

Standard 3: Diverse Expression.I like these sentences “As we all know.”“A bright future is waiting for Aishan.”So, 3 stars.

Standard 4:Communicative Applicability.The principle is really a good spokesman! The reporter is very professional, too.They can get 3 stars!

Standard 5: Special Perspective.They talked about something special and different.Old Aishan was small, but it also had great fun.New Aishan is big, and it is better than before.I like their opinions.So, they can get 3 stars.

Standard 6: In-depth Research.Roll iron hoop,cement ping-pong table, and the small comic books,they were my childhood memories.And they even know the numbers of our classrooms.They did serious research.So they can get 3 stars.

Standard 7: Creative Production.They talked in an interesting way.One is the principle.The other is the reporter.They can get 3 stars.So in total, 21 stars.Congratulations!

【示范说明】教师呈现的对话虽然还是Changes in our school,但内容形式上都已经与书本大不相同。滚铁环、水泥乒乓球桌和小人书,让“观众”真切地走进了那个年代。同时,校长这一角色作为“新闻发言人”介绍百年名校日新月异发展的那份自豪感,更使“观众”备受感染,对学校、祖国的爱从心底油然而生。独特的视角、深度的研究和创意的展示,点亮了学生的创作热情。

(三)任务布置与准备

【任务布置】It’s your turn to show your ideas.First, find your partner.Then, discuss what changes you will talk about.Next, you should do some survey or research to know more details about the changes.Finally, you can design how to show your discovery.Please take out your worksheet! Let’s begin!

【导航讨论】The students discuss their ideas according to the items in the worksheet.It can guide the students to organize the discussion orderly and efficiently.

(5 minutes later, students finish the worksheet and form their own project about the survey chart.)

【导航解读】Changes 这一话题选题宽泛,有一定的难度。任务导航单使学生在有限的课堂时间内,高效地完成了围绕Changes 这个大主题的选题、内容架构与形式设计。学生可以选择学校的变迁、城市的变迁、家庭的变迁或者是国家的变迁。同时,既引导学生关注日新月异的今昔变化,也引导学生用辩证的眼光去发现各个年代特有的优势与劣势。例如,互联网时代虽然网购方便,但也缺少了一家人其乐融融到商场逛街的体验;城市的发展并不是越新越好,还要将自然、文化遗产传承下来,从而使学生能自主、独立地客观看待问题,增强文化自信,生发文化保护意识,渗透科学发展观。此外,还要求学生对发布会情境与角色进行创意设计,例如,A 组是市长参加城市宣传片的发布会,B 组博物馆解说员给外宾介绍改革开放的变化,增加了任务的趣味性。

【准备说明】学生通过走访、上网查阅等方式深入研究,形成自己的独特理解后,设计展示形式,完成对话稿,布置场景、服装、道具等,完成主题发布视频的拍摄。

Mayor: Thank you.Huzhou has changed a lot.It is becoming better and better.There were many beautiful bridges in Huzhou.Now these old bridges still exist.We maintain them well.And there are more and more new bridges in Huzhou now.It is convenient for people.

Reporter: That’s really wonderful.There are more tall buildings in Huzhou, too.

Mayor: We are now in Dongwu New Century Grand Hotel.It’s the tallest building in Huzhou.But before,the Feiying Tower was the tallest.We could see the whole city from there.Look.We restored the tower.Is it beautiful?

【展评说明】在“视角选择的独特性、调查研究的深刻性和展示形式的创意性”三个评价标准的导向下,学生在开放的表现性任务中所展现的能力足以让成人赞叹。他们不仅发现在城市发展的进程中,楼更高了,桥更多了,环境越来越美了,也能看到时代发展进程中对生态环境的爱护、对古镇、古桥、古塔的保护。以“市长”这一角色进行的城市宣传片新闻发布会,更是让人感受到那份“在湖州看见美丽中国,让更多的人听到湖州故事”的愿景与担当。

Foreigner: When I came to China twenty years ago, there were not so many tall and big buildings.But now I can see them everywhere in China.

【展评说明】Be a spokesman 这一表现性任务设置的初衷就是想让学生通过研究性学习,真切感受到时代的进步与发展。在完成自己任务的过程中,在欣赏他人作品的过程中,学生已经萌发了为祖国繁荣而自豪的爱国热情以及为祖国强盛而奋发学习的热情。
