1. International influence: a key proposition of international urban construction
An international city refers to a city that has a certain regional influence or special international function in international politics, economy, culture, and life. Internationalized cities are more open than ordinary cities, and their economic development is better. At the same time, geographical location, historical traditions, and infrastructure construction are superior to other cities.
An important indicator of the level of urban internationalization is to look at the citys international influence. The so-called international influence is a manifestation of a countrys comprehensive strength, including economic, political, military, scientific, cultural and other aspects of development, directly reflecting the development prospects of a country. International influence is directly proportional to a countrys international status and international discourse power. It is a comprehensive manifestation of a countrys economy, national strength and military.
2. The real value of enhancing the international influence of the city
International influence is the embodiment of comprehensive strength. If a city wants to become an international city, it must strive to enhance its international influence.
2.1 Positive incentives to improve the economic development of the city
Economic development and urban international influence are interactions. Cities with better urban economic development have better infrastructure construction and relatively complete supporting facilities, which is more suitable for foreign exchanges and cooperation in various industries.
2.2 The key to improving the degree of openness of the city
Only cities with a high degree of openness have high international influence. The high degree of openness means that the local policies are open and flexible. The relatively loose political system provides a better soil for foreign exchanges. Investment in developed countries is more inclined to politically loose and flexible policies. Cities with a high degree of openness are also more conducive to attracting talents at home and abroad, which plays an important role in promoting economic development.
2.3 The protection of urban cultural inclusiveness and the development of science and technology
The cities with higher international influence are relatively mature and their cultures are more inclusive, which provides intrinsic support for the construction of international cities. The development of culture also illustrates the prosperity of science and technology, and cities with higher cultural inclusiveness are more conducive to attracting talents at home and abroad.
3. The ideal path to improve the citys international influence
3.1 Accelerate urban economic construction
In the construction of an internationalized city, the government must first raise the level of economic opening up, focus on improving the proportion of the service industry in the industrial structure, optimize the structure of foreign trade, and increase the proportion of total exports of services.
