词序有差别，意义大不同

在英语中，有些词组颠倒词序后，会构 成另外的短语。同学们若认真审视这些词 序相反的短语，不难发现，它们的含义可谓 是大相径庭。对此，笔者归纳了如下与“in” 有关的词组，以期同学们能够准确辨析，避免 混淆。

一、in all 与 all in

in all 意为“总共，总计”，相当于“alto-gether ”或“in total”。例如：

It s two hundred yuan in all.

票价总计200元。

There are 52 students in all in our class.

我们班总共52名学生。

all in意为“疲惫到极点，筋疲力尽的”，相当于“very tired”，常用于英语口语中。例如：

You look all in. You should have a goodrest and eat some cookies.

你看上筋疲力尽，你应该休息下，吃点饼干。

Having worked hard all day， she was all in.

辛勤工作了一整天后，她累极了。

需要注意的是，all in all，则意为“总之，总的来说”。例如：

All in all， we have a goodtime.

总之，我们玩得很开心。

All in all， this is an interesting book.

总之，这是一本有趣的书。

二、in turn 与 turn in

in turn为介词短语，意为“依次，逐个，轮流”。例如：

They will cross the bridge in turn.

他们将依次过桥。

We washed dishes in turn after dinner.

晚饭后，我们輪流洗碗。

turn in为动词短语，意为“提交，交付，上床睡觉”。例如：

We needs to turn in our homework by noon.

我们必须在中午前交家庭作业。

I am tired， I must turn in now.

我累了，得上床睡觉了。

三、in cash与cash in

in cash 为介词短语，意为“用现金（付款）”。例如：

You can either pay in cash or in creditcard.

您可以用现金，也可以用信用卡付款。

Would you pay me in cash， please？

请您付给我现金，行吗？

cash in（on sth.）意为“兑换成现款，从……中捞好处”。例如：

Peter didnt cash in his shares.

彼得没有把股票兑换成现款。

Those people cashed in on the war.

那些人利用战争捞钱。

四、in order与order in

in order意为“整齐，井然有序，处于良好状态”。例如：

He likes to keep his books in order.

他喜欢把书排整齐。

Everything is in order.

一切井然有序。

order in意为“命令（某人）进入，订购（货物）”。例如：

The mother ordered the kids in.

母亲命令孩子们进去。

If you order in large lots， we will reducethe price.

如果你大量订购，我们可以降低价格。

五、in advance与advance in

in advance意为“提前，预先，事先”。例如：

We have to plan our travel routes in advance.

我们必须提前安排好我们的旅游路线。

He paid a months rent in advance.

他预交了一个月的房租。

advance in 意为“在……有进步/提高/发展”。例如：

I advanced in my English.

我的英语进步了。

He advanced in office.

他的职务提升了。

六、in trust与trust in

in trust为介词短语，意为“托管，代管”。

例如：

The money will be held in trust until sheis 18.

这笔钱将会由他人代管，直到她满了18岁。

The house is held in trust until the children come of age.

在子女到达法定年龄之前，房子归受托人管理。

trust in为动词短语，意为“相信，信任，信赖”。例如：

He has perfect trust in his friends.

他完全信任他的朋友。

We trusted in her decision because shewas an honest and reliable girl.

我们相信她的决定，因为她是个诚实可靠的女孩。

总之，在英语中，因词序颠倒而意思不 同的现象十分普遍。在平时学习中，同学们 切不可忽视这种情况，要注意归类整理，用 心辨析，牢记其义，从而丰富知识积累，避免 语用错误。
