Q：下面这道选择填空题为什么正确答案是C，而不是B？

A：此题的中文意思是：“虽然我表妹很年轻，但她会帮忙干家务了。”由于受汉语思维的影响，同学们很容易错选B。英语中，although(though)“虽然”属于从属连词，而but“但是”是并列连词。把一个从句连接于主句，只用although(though)就够了，不能再加but。如：

Although learning English is not easy,it is very interesting.学习英语虽然不容易，但是很有趣。

当然保留but而去掉although(though)也是可以的。如：

He was tired,but he went on working.虽然他很累，但仍继续干活。

注意：口语中although(though)可与yet,still连用，这时yet,still用作副词。如：

Although(Though)it was raining,yet we still played football.尽管下雨，我们还是踢了足球。

A：before用作连词，连接时间状语从句，其基本意思是“在……之前”,但是具体译法视上下文而定。如果before与情态动词can(could)连用，这时候从句虽为肯定形式，根据表达习惯要译成“还没来得及……就……”，强调从句动作发生之前，主句动作已发生。如：

Someone called me up in the middle of the night,they hung up before I could answer the phone.半夜里有人给我打电话，可是我还没来得及接，电话就挂断了。

She ran out before I could tell it to her.我还来不及把这件事告诉她，她就跑出去了。

此题句意为：“今天早上你赶上第一趟地铁了吗？”“没，我没赶上。我还没来得及上车，车就开始动了”。选A。
