Title:Module5 Cloning第二课时。

Type:Reading

一、Teaching aims

1.Knowledge objectives:

To gain some knowledge about cloning and improve their

reading comprehension.

2.Ability objectives:

To encourage the Ss to grasp the reading skills.

3.Moral objective:

To establish the Ssinterest in learning about

cloning and to encourage them to learn how to read a

passage.

二、Teaching important points and difficult points

1.To find out the main language points in the passage

and express the Ssfeelings about cloning .

2.To understand the meanings of the passage better.

三、Teaching methods

1.“Question and answer” method.

2.Pairs work and groups work.

1.Blackboard

五、Teaching Procedures

Step 1 Lead-in:(7)

1.Greet the Ss.

2.Appreciate a film , and use some pictures to lead in the topic—cloning.

Purpose:To attract Ss interest and lead to the passage.

Step 2 Fast reading:(8)

1.Read the passage as soon as possible and answer the questions.

2.Check the answers and correct the wrong answers.

Purpose:To try to get to know the main ideas of the

passage.

Step 3 Careful Reading:(15)

1.Read the passage as carefully as Ss can and pay attention to the structure of the passage.

2.Translate the passage into Chinese.

3.Explain the language points in the passage.

Purpose:To train Ss reading ability and understand

the main ideas of the passage better.

Step 4 Do Exercises:(7)

Activity: Complete the small article with the words you have learned in the passage.

Last night I went to see Frankenstein, a _____film about a scientist who ____ a____that _____ a huge human being in his laboratory. The creature was _____to lookugly. With _____skin, yellow _____and black_____. It was big and very strong.

He____ everyone who ____him. It was a very _____story; but it was also very sad. I couldnt believe the _____of this poor creature could be so stupid– why didnt he think that ____he made a living being, it would have _____just like any man? If I were a scientist, I would think about my experiments before I did them. If I didnt , the _____could be as terrifying as they were in the film.

Purpose: To help Ss understand the plot of the film and improve their reading ability.

Step 5 Summary:(2)

1.Review the important words, phrases and sentences in the passage.

2.Retell the main ideas of the passage.

Purpose:To help Ss get to know what they have learned in this class.

Step 6 Homework:(1)

1.Recite the language points in this passage.

2.Review the Grammar.

教学反思:

这节课是本模块第二课时也就是精读课,学生要掌握的知识点较多。总的来说,这节课是比较成功的一节课。学生预习较好,主体性强,课堂气氛活跃,多媒体课件的运用使学生较清晰地理解并掌握了课文的主旨大意,但相关知识点的练习题做得较少,今后应注意讲练结合的正确运用。
