“性格测试”——求职新门槛

现如今,面对严峻的就业市场,求职难,是职场新人不变的话题。我们为了谋得一职使出浑身解数,花一大堆时间和金钱买职业装、背面试需要的“葵花宝典”……然而,让我们始料不及的是,不同于前些年以应聘者的学历和工作经验为主要选拔标准,时下用人单位更提出了应聘者是否能胜任工作的新标准,如是否能通过心理、性格以及行为测试。性格测试成为聘用前第二重要的人才评估手段,仅次于技能与知识测试。这无疑给毕业生们再添负荷,因为如果测试失利则意味着求职被拒。

米米:我的性格比我的分数好多了!如果在我找工作的时候性格很重要,那么我现在都成CEO了。

克拉伦斯:这不奇怪。但是你了解我,我不是很外向,我担心自己会因为缺乏社交能力而失败。

米米:不会的,你的想法过激了。你的社交能力很好。你只需要清晰地表达自己、留心倾听、控制好自己的情绪就可以了。

克拉伦斯:谢谢你对我的认可!但是这还没结束呢。现在很多公司都想确保新的雇员能够融入到公司文化中去。如果我不知道公司的文化,怎么知道自己能不能融入其中呢?

米米:对。但是别担心,如果他们因为认为你会跟别的员工吵架而不用你,说不定还帮了你呢!

克拉伦斯:我还没想过。但是最后一件事才是真正困扰我的:他们现在甚至还要看你的星座。

米米:这有什么奇怪的?这只是了解你性格的另一种手段而已。

克拉伦斯:等等,你真的相信星座吗?米米:当然!

Smart Sentences

① Hunky dory, like always! What about you? 跟以往一样,挺好的!你呢?

hunky dory: everything is fine(各事都好)。例如:—Long time no see. Howve you been lately?

get sb. down: make sb. unhappy, cause low spirits(使某人不快乐、沮丧)。例如:

worked up: emotional, upset or excited(情绪化,生气,或激动)。例如:

vote of confidence: sth. sb. says or does to show sb.s approval or support for a person or group(对某人或某组人的支持、赞同)。例如:

The contract is a vote of confidence for our performance.

这份合同是对我们成就的认可。

⑦ But the last thing is what really gets me: theyre even looking at your star sign now! 但是最后一件事才是真正困扰我的:他们现在甚至还要看你的星座。

get (to) sb.: sth./sb. annoys or irritates sb.(某事或某人影响他人的情绪,打击某人)。例如:
