The hills are bright with maples yet，

But down the level land，

The beech leaves rustle in the wind，

As dry and brown as sand.

The clouds in bars of rusty red，

Along the hilltops glow，

And in the still sharp air the frost，

Is like a dream of snow.

The berries of the brier?rose，

Have lost their rounded pride;

The bitter?sweet， chrysanthemums，

Are drooping， heavy?eyed.

枫叶已染红山冈，

而山下平原的榉树叶，

却在风中沙沙作响，

像沙子般枯干焦黄。

团团云彩铁锈一般红，

闪着亮光挂在山头，

冰冷刺骨的寒风中，
