暗喻（metaphor）：也叫隐喻，根据两个事物间的某些共同特征，将某一事物的名称用于另一事物。暗喻一般是本体、喻体都出现，但找不出像like， as， as if， as though 之类的喻词，通常有“be， become等词”。例如：

（暗喻）Shenzhen is a melting pot where new ideas are mixed.

（明喻）Shenzhen is like a melting pot where new ideas are mixed.
