This unit is mainly talk about abilities. From this lesson, students will learn how to make friends by sending an email. So it is easy for students to improve their interest in learning.

Students in Grade 5 have learned English for two years. They have a great curiosity for new knowledge. They like having fun by performing, talking and singing.

Step 1.Warm-up
(1)Greeting.
Greet students with “Hello, boy, do a do. Hello, girl, do a do. Hello, teacher, do a do.”“How are you?”“Nice to meet you.”
Purpose: Through the daily dialogue, close the distance between teachers and students.
(2)Play a guessing game.
The teacher put a robot in the box. Let the students discuss:
What can it do?
What is it?
Purpose: Through game to relax the students and arouse their interest in learning English.
Step 2.Presentaion and Practice
1.Review.
PPT shows the pictures of many kinds of robots.
The teacher asks students questions:

2.Whats Robin like?
3.Create scenarios:
Robin is unhappy. If the students can finish tasks very well. Then Robin will happy again.
