High school football was a Thanksgiving tradition in my hometown. Usually, Mom was the one who stayed at home, while Dad, my sister and I headed out to the game. When we got home, my aunt had quite the story to tell! She decided to place a paper bag like a tent over the turkey. It wasn’t too long before smoke was coming from the oven. Fortunately, our neighbor was in his yard during that time. He came in and removed the2)flaming ['fleɪmɪŋ] adj. 燃烧的flaming turkey from the oven, stamped out the fire, and calmed down my aunt. After getting rid of the ashes, the turkey went back into the oven.

When we arrived home after the game, we had no idea what happened until she told us.
