After 78 days, 14 hours and 14 minutes, Scottish adventurer[冒险家]Mark Beaumont rode back into Paris. It broke the previous[先前的]record of 123 days for a round-the-world bike trip.

And he even beat the fictional[虚构的]achievements of Phileas Fogg from the adventure novel Around the World in Eighty Days.

About 50 supporters were there to greet[迎接]him, including his wife and his daughters.

“I doubt[怀疑]I’ll ever do anything like it again,” Beaumont said, describing the journey as “de fi nitely the longest two-and-a-half months of my life.”
