小学英语故事教学举隅

小学英语故事教学举隅

针对现行小学英语教材的教学内容大多情况下都是在进行单词、句型、对话、歌曲等内容而展开的教学活动,本人在教学活动中时常运用故事教学的方式展开教学。故事教学的目的是让所学的内容情节简单特别是在小学中高年级英语教学中激发学习兴趣、提高学习动机、渗透阅读教学、理解情景创设。理解语言意义,体验语言运用,感受读故事的乐趣。

故事教学具有情境性和相对完整的意义,可以从语言学习本身看待故事,从故事自身的价值学习语言,让学生们通过语境来理解词、句、段、篇、章。

片段一: A Story about Tom's Grandfather

Every morning Tom's grandfather goes for a walk in the park and comes home at twelve for his lunch.

But one morning a police car stopped outside Tom's house,two policemen helped him get out. One of them said to Tom's father:“The poor old man lost his way in the park and telephone to us for help.”Tom asked his grandfather:“You have been to that park every day for twenty years, how did you lost your way today?”

The old man smiled,closed one eye and said:“I didn't lose my way,I just got tired and I didn't want to walk home.”

此故事为背诵而设计,通过在有限的时间压力下在快速记忆中大量输入语言,加强学生对语言知识的积累和巩固,同样对词汇的掌握是不言而喻的。使这一传统的学习方法变成一种学习的自觉性和主动性。

片段二:The Clever Cock

One day a hungry fox came to a cock and said,“Dear cock, what a wonderful singer you are!Can you sing a song for me?”

The cock shut his eyes and began to sing. Suddenly the fox snatched him with his mouth and carried him away.

The people of the village cried,“Look! Look! The fox is carrying off our cock!”

In time of great danger the cock's mind worked fast.He said to the fox,“Tell them quickly that it is yours, and not theirs!”

When the fox opened his mouth to speak, the cock flew from his mouth and into a tree.

The fox was very angry.He said to himself,“If I hadn't talked so much,I could have eaten that cock.”

此故事指导学生在略读、猜测、寻读及详读后在大脑中初步形成了主要情节和内容,对人物对话和故事情节有了一定的理解,然后让学生完成下列正误判断:

1. The fox shut his eyes and began to sing. ( )

2. The fox is carrying off their cock. ( )

3. Before the fox opened his mouth,the cock flew from his mouth ( )

4. The people caught the fox. ( )

5. The fox have eaten the cock. ( )

片段三:The Cat and the Bell

There were a lot of mice in a house.The man of the house got a cat.The cat killed manyof the mice.

Then the oldest mouse said,“All mice must come to my hole tonight, and we will think what we can do about this cat.”

All the mice came. Many mice spoke,but none knew what to do.

At last a young mouse stood up and said,“We must put a bell on the cat.Then when the cat comes near,we 'll hear the bell and run away and hide.So the cat will never catch any more mice.”

Then the old mouse asked,“Who will put the bell on the cat? ”

No mouse answered.

He waited;but still no one answered.

At last he said,“It is not hard to say things;but it is harder to do them.”

were是are的过去式,系动词。

There be 句型表示某地(时)有……

a lot of 短语:许多,大量

mice时mouse的复数,名词,‘老鼠’

got是动词get的过去式

oldest形容词的最高级,‘最老的,最年长的’

said动词say的过去式‘说’的意思

tonight副词,‘在今晚’

think动词,‘想,考虑’

spoke动词,speak的过去式,‘讲’的意思

none代词,‘没有人’

knew动词,know的过去式,‘知道’

stood动词,stand的过去式‘站立’

stood up 短语‘站起来’

never 副词‘从来不’

catch动词‘抓住’

any more ‘永不,再也不’

answered 动词answer的过去式,‘回答’

thing 名词‘东西,事物’

them 代词,they的宾格形式

词汇教学是小学英语教学中的一个重点,但也是一个难点,掌握英语词汇是故事教学的基础和必经之路,把故事中的词汇短语等通过讲解故事的方式对学生进行指导点拨,不仅可以使小学生积累丰富的词汇,而且使故事教学轻松愉悦。◇
