1.教学目标
(1)复习巩固掌握本单元所学的生词和表达式,进一步练习使用进行时态对人的不同行为进行描述。同时通过学习课文,提高学生的英语阅读能力和写作能力。
(2)该部分学习内容贴近学生的生活,谈论的主题是学生熟悉的端午节,极易激发学生学习英语的欲望和兴趣,使他们乐于参与各种英语实践活动,了解中西方文化的差异。
2.学情分析
学生在Section B第一课时的听力中已经学习了使用进行时态对人的不同行为进行描述,这节课只是在此基础上再学用进行时态描述同一时间的不同地方、不同人的活动,难度应该不大。
3.重点难点
(1)了解不同国家的时差。
(2)能根据相关的提示词来描述他人正在做的事情。
(3)能运用自己所学的知识来描述一些正在发生的事情。
(4)课文理解。
4.教学过程
Step 1. Go over and free talk
通过呈现一些图片与学生操练现在进行时,问学生:“What are you doing?”然后让一组学生做动作,而另一组学生则要回答教师所提的问题“What is he/she doing?”
通过问学生图片中的人物在做什么,再问学生自己此时在做什么,再到问学生同班同学在做什么,反复操练了句型“What is he/she doing? He/She is V.+ing.”。
Step 2. 新课导入和操练
让学生根据钟面来回答时间,导入新课,再由北京时间引出New York、Sydney、Tokyo三个地方时间的不同。然后假设现在我们这个地方是上午9点,问学生纽约是几点,同时让学生思考9点的时候我们正在做什么(我们正在上英语课)。之后对比此时的纽约时间是晚上的9点,让学生思考人们现在正在做什么(学生可以用学过的动词的进行时造句)。
Step 3. 讲述一个故事呈现新词和故事主人朱辉
故事内容:I have a friend. His name is Zhu Hui. He is a student from Shenzhen. Now he is studying in the United States. He is living with an American family in New York. The American family is his host family.
随后引出几个生词:study、United States、host family,通过让学生听故事猜出词的意思。再让学生思考讨论朱辉与他的寄宿家人现在在纽约正在做什么:
At 9:00 p.m. New York
What are Zhu Hui and his host family doing?
Zhu Hui is...(学生发挥想象)
The father is...
The mother is...
The young children (Jack and Mary) are...
让学生思考、讨论并对比朱辉的家人现在在深圳正在做什么。
At 9:00 a.m. Shenzhen
What are Zhu Hu’s family doing now?
His mother is...
His father is...
His aunt is...
His uncle is...
先由学生自由说出答案,然后通过给出答案和图片让学生猜出生词:
His mother is making zongzi.(一张棕子的图)
His aunt is making zongzi.(一张棕子的图)
His father is watching dragon boat races(一张赛龙舟的图) on TV.
His uncle is watching dragon boat races on TV.
然后又给出朱辉和他的寄宿家庭正在做的活动:The mother is reading a story to her children. The father is watching a soccer game on TV.
The young children are listening to their mother. Zhu Hui is talking on the phone to his cousin in Shenzhen.
Step 4. Let’s discuss
T: How is Zhu Hui feeling now?
S: He misses his family.
S: He wishes to eat his mum’s delicious zongzi(再次呈现棕子的图片,强化)and watch dragon boat races.
He loves New York and his host family, but he loves China better.
(Do you love our country?)(情感升华)
Step 5. Play a game
先在黑板上总结所学的生词,让学生跟着教师读,教师的声音大,学生的声音就要小;教师的声音小,学生的声音就要大,以此调动学生的积极性。然后教师展示英语单词,让学生立即站起来抢答中文,当出现汉语意思时让学生立即站起来抢答并读出英语单词。
Step 6. 2B Listen to the tape
在课文中找出所学的单词并在所学单词下画线(通过让学生从课文中找出所学的英语单词进行复习巩固),同时听录音回答2B中出现的问题(训练学生的听力)。
Step 7. Homework
做2C,同时让学生编造对话:课文中的朱辉正在电话中与他的表弟说什么
