中学英语中强调句型的用法小结

强调句型是英语语法教学的一项重要内容，也是教学中的一个难点。现总结如下：

一、强调句型的构成

It is/was＋被强调部分＋that（强调部分是人时也可用who/whom）＋其他部分。例如：

I met him in the street this morning.

It was I who met him in the street this morning.（强调主语）

It was him that I met in the street this morning.（强调宾语）

It was in the street that I met him this morning.（强调地点状语）

It was this morning that I met him in the street.（强调时间状语）

二、强调句型需要注意的几点

1.强调主语用人称代词主格，强调宾语用宾格。

It was him that they telephoned.

It is I who am wrong.

2.连接词一般用that，当强调部分是人时，强调主语也可用who，强调宾语也可用whom/who。特别注意当强调部分是时间状语或地点状语时，不能用when或where。

It was at the theatre that Lincoln was murdered.

It was on Oct.1st，1949 that people’s Republic of China was founded.

3.若强调部分是句子的主语，则其他部分中的谓语动词应和强调部分保持人称和数的一致，即：强调部分是单数，谓语动词用单数形式；若强调部分是复数，则谓语动词用复数形式。

It is Tom who of ten helps me with my English.

It is I that am f or you.

It is the boy students of class Two who are playing f ootball on the playground.

4.疑问句中的强调句型。

It was in the classroom that the meeting was held.

→Was it in the classroom that the meeting was held？

What made Tom angry？

→What was it that made Tom angry？5.强调句型与定语从句的区别。

It was at 7 o’clock that I arrived.It was 7 o’clock when I arrived.6.强调句型与主语从句的区别。

It is true that he is honest.

7.强调句型与其他句型的区别。

It is three years since he came here.

It was not long bef ore the f ire was put out.

8.强调句型与定语从句的结合。

It was at midnight when everyone was sleeping that the earthquake happened.

Was it in the house where his grandf ather once lived that they f ound the old picture？

三、强调句型的简单判断方法

在“It is/was＋被强调部分＋that/who/whom＋其他部分”这个结构中，如果去掉it is/was和that后，剩余部分仍能组成一个完整的句子，那么，这个句子为强调句型。下面我们来判断一下几个句子是否为强调句型：

It was at midnight that he came home.（强调句型）

It was midnight when he came home.（非强调句型）

It is the ability to do the job that matters not where you come f rom or what you are…（强调句型）
