2.Let students talk about whether it is possible for people to clone a dinosaur.
3.Lead the topic of“The return of the dinosaurs”in.

教学反思
本节课是人教版选修8第二单元的第二篇阅读,以“The return of the dinosaurs?”为话题展开,课型丰富,涉及读、说、写三个部分,是一篇Reading for discussing and writing的典型课例。下面笔者从两个方面对这节课进行总结和反思:
这节课的成功之处是组织科学、合理而紧凑。这篇文章简单易懂,生词量不大;可是由它所引出的话题的讨论和写作所需要的词汇量却是巨大的。除了学生原本的词料库以外,在阅读部分为学生做好词汇、语料、语法等准备也十分必要。在这节课中,笔者组织学生讨论,引导学生积极思考,调动学生对于争议话题的兴趣,并引导学生把观点写下来。这些课堂活动为接下来的写作做了很好的铺垫。在写作环节,笔者巧妙地设计了角色扮演活动,即“假设你是一名小记者,总结今天的辩论”,使学生带着荣誉感地去完成写作部分,上下承接。
这堂课也有不足之处。一是在时长控制方面,有些活动的时间不充足,有些基础薄弱的学生还未准备好就匆匆赶往下一环节。二是在reading中只引导学生搜索基本文本信息,而忽略了language的学习,如in fact,unfortunate等词作为很有力的带有感情色彩的转折词,在阅读中并没有带领学生去仔细研读和模仿,颇为遗憾。
