“女汉子”一词是2013中国网络十大热词之一。那么“女汉子”这一词是如何变得如此流行的呢？它的定义是什么？女汉子和其他女孩子的区别在哪儿？

In August 2013， photos of Julia Vins， a 17-year-old bodybuilder in Russia， became a hit online because of the strong contrast between her angelic1 face and muscled body.

Chinese actress Ma Su said on her weibo， “I would rather be a tough girl making friends with men than stay with scheming2 women，” which was forwarded more than 15，000 times on weibo.

There is a joke on the Internet that people are divided into three groups： men， women and “tough girl”. According to Urban Dictionary， “tough girl” refers to a girl who is strong-minded， independent， and capable of3 fighting for herself. This term has become broadly used to describe women who are too independent and behave like a man.
