Step 1:Warming up
1. Free talk:
T:Boys and girls, look, I can swim. What can you do?
S1:I can...
……
T:I like rabbits. Do you like rabbits?
S:Yes, I do./No I dont .
T:I like listening to music. Do you like to listen to music?
S:Yes. I do.
2. Listen to an English song:What are you doing?
Answer the question:What is Mike doing?
【设计意图:教学开始通过一首歌来活跃课堂气氛,引领学生进入英语学习状态,同时也引出本节课的重点——现在进行时。】
Step 2: Presentation
1. Learn :sweep the floor, clean the windows
T:Can you read this phrase?
S:Yes, I can.
T:Read, please.
S:Sweep the floor.
T:Can you sweep the floor?
S:Yes, I can.
T:Ok, sweep the floor, please.What are you doing now?
S:Im sweeping the floor.
The same way to learn: cleans the windows

2. Say a chant:
Doing, doing, what are you doing?
Sweeping, sweeping, sweeping the floor.
Doing, doing, what are you doing?
Cleaning, cleaning , cleaning the windows.
【设计意图:学完本课主要词组后,通过chant来巩固,激发学生说的欲望。】
3.教师出示学生数学老师的照片
T:Who is he/she ? What is he/she doing now?
S:Maybe he/she is…
T:Lets call her/him, ok?
教师与电脑打电话。学习:“maths”“Are you free now?”
【设计意图:选用学生最熟悉的老师的照片,学生会非常感兴趣。】
4. 教师出示另一组图片(Snow White,刘翔,喜羊羊,姚明)
T:Look, who are they? What are they doing now? Please choose one and make a telephone call, ok?
Ill give you some sentences. You may use them.
(课件出示打电话常用语)
【设计意图:让学生尝试自己用英语打电话,在实践中进行学习,才能遇到问题解决问题。教师出示打电话常用语,给学生帮助的同时,也拓宽学生的知识面。】
4. Students make dialogues and act them out.
5.教师出示一张宝宝照片(learn: at home)

Step 3. practice
1.Listen to the tape answer the questions:
a. Where are Su Hai and Su Yang?
b. What are Su Hai and Su Yang doing?
c. What is Su Hai doing?
d. What is Su Yang doing?
e. What is Nancy doing?

2.Listen and read with the tape.

任选一个场景编一个对话:
1.星期六你的英语作业不会做,打电话给你的英语老师求救。
2.星期天,你做完作业,打电话约你的好朋友打篮球。

当你想问别人正在干什么时,可以问:What are you doing?

1.Listen to the tape and read after it.
2.Make call your English teacher or your friends in English.
