Eighty One Large and Mediumsized Deposits Found in Anhui

According to Anhui Business News, during the 11th Five-Year Plan period, a total of 81 deposits were found and proved in Anhui, including 5.7 billion tons of coal reserves, more than 0.1 billion tons of gypsum, rock salt and iron ore,copper and newly-found lead & zinc, tungsten,molybdenum and gold reserves. “Nihe Speed”and “Nihe Mode” were created in Anhui and promoted nationwide.

It is reported that, during the 11th Five-Year Plan period, Anhui increased the investment in geological exploration and used many sophisticated technologies, thus making new breakthroughs in geological prospecting. 81 large and medium deposits were found and proved,up by 40 than that of the 10th Five-Year Plan period. New resource reserves found include 5.7 billion tons of coal, 0.83 billion tons of iron ore, 1.09million tons of copper (metal volume),1.86million tons of lead & zinc (metal volume),1.26million tons of tungsten and molybdenum(metal volume), 50 tons of gold (metal volume), 8 billion tons of limestone, 0.7 billion tons of gypsum and 0.1 billion tons of rock salt.It is the best 5 years in the mineral exploration history of Anhui. It is noteworthy that Anhui has created the “Nihe Speed” and “Nihe Mode”in the 11th Five-Year Plan period, which were promoted nationwide.

Currently, Anhui has worked out an implementation plan for the prospecting breakthrough strategic action. It strives to accelerate local iron resources development and reduce import of iron ore; fully utilize new advantageous resources such as tungsten and molybdenum,etc., speed up to explore nonferrous metals resources such as tungsten, molybdenum and lead & zinc, etc.; strengthen macro control of mineral resources, optimize resource alloca-tion; establish a reserve system for the government to manage key mineral resources, focus on major national and provincial projects for mineral demands; currently, emphasize mineral exploration of the national integrated prospecting zone of Lucong Iron-Copper Mine and provincial integrated prospecting zone of Wuhe Gold Mine; implement the relevant prospecting plans as scheduled, and try to make breakthrough individually and promote the experience in a wider range.
