Massive Mineral Reserves of Nonferrous Metals Found in Guangxi

According to news from the Department of Land and Resources of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in 2011, more than 0.5 billion tons of mineral resources (including 127,000 tons of newly-added rare earth resources) were found in Guangxi.
According to Liang Bing, vice head of the Department of Land and Resources of the autonomous region, on the basis of general requirement of “make great progress in 3 years,make significant breakthrough in 5 years and reshape the development pattern of mineral exploration in 8 years”, Guangxi will build a new mechanism for mineral prospecting, and advance integrated exploration in key prospecting areas, including Fusui-Longzhou Alumina Mine, Guizhong Sanshui Alumina Mine,Fozichong Orefield deep and peripheral lead &zinc mines, Teng County Dali-Cangwu Shedong Tungsten, Molybdenum, Gold and Silver Poly-metallic Mine as well as Guigang Longtoushan - Longshan Gold Mine, etc.
In 2011, 28 large-scale national projects and 34 large-scale geological mineral exploration projects were carried out in Guangxi. According to the initial exploration result, 0.5 billion tons of mineral resources were found in Guangxi, including 127,000 tons of newly-added rare earth, 80 million tons of monohydrate bauxite,approximately 0.25 billion tons of high iron gibbsite-type bauxite, approximately 0.188 billion tons of kaolin resources as well as 150,000 tons of lead & zinc.
