Abstract: Although there were few biologists to take part in "the Debate of Science and Metaphysics" advocated by Chinese scholars in 1923, the theory and knowledge of biology became the important content of the debate. And the "life outlook of science" was looked as the same as the "life outlook of biology". The reason was that the theory of evolution and the knowledge of genetics had been communicated in Chinese society at that time, and the knowledge of biology was related with extensive fields of life. The other important reason was that the members of scientific party who were inclined to scientism were for the evolution viewpoint of progressivism.
