This Winter Watch Snow on Mountains
Mount Tai seems to cooperate well with winter. Tai’an’s first snow always appears here. Looking around on the top of Mount Tai, you could see crystal-clear ice flowers hanging all over the mountaintop, clouds occasionally drifting across the mountains, appearing poetic and picturesque; red walls and golden tiles looking more gorgeous and spectacular; winter-sweets in Puzhao Temple, Martyrs’ Shrine and Wangmuchi blossoming in the snow, adding vitality to this cold season; occasionally tourists looking for plum blossoms in the snow, having a snowball fight, or taking pictures of snow, which become the most dynamic elements in the picture.
Every snow in Mount Meng is a free and unrestrained poem. No matter in Yunmeng, Guimeng or Tianmeng, the snow is always enchanting. It unstintingly and slowly adorns mountains, waters, land, buildings and trees, turning the whole mountain range into a world of ice and snow.
On a silent night, a snow quietly arrived in Mount Lao, enhancing the beauty of this celestial mountain on the sea, as if adding a filter. After snow, when the sun shone into the mountains, the peaks seemed to be inlaid with gold; the ice flowers in full bloom became shining. They did not have the bright colors of real flowers, but had a pure and noble character, adding some sort of elegance to heaven-like Mount Lao.
On snowy days, Mount Jiuru took off its red coat, white becoming its dominant hue. It launched the “Blow-in Festival”. There was snow outdoors, and a bonfire indoors. In the log cabin by the frozen waterfall, pine wood was burning in a furnace, with red flames dancing. Three or five friends sat around the fire, heating liquor, boiling tea, with roasted food like sweet potatoes, chestnuts and tangerines sending forth fragrance. The whole mountain was suffused with the breath of life…
