The Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games’ opening ceremonywas a great success， and the volunteers working during it has soon been ontrend.

These group of teenagers or volunteers all called “Xiao Qingjiao” inChinese or “little green pepper” in English. However， in Chinese， greenpepper has the same pronunciation as “youth exchange”. Therefore， thename “green pepper” was used because it not only represents the beliefsof the green and environmental protection movement， but also is an imageof a foodie city. Second， you may wonder whether there is a “little”. It issaid that it can show World University Games’ volunteers’ cute and sporty.Recently， I have been taking extra classes over the city， and it’s easy forme to find that there are many volunteer sentry boxes（志愿者小亭）.If you look at it carefully， you can find that dedication lies in the details.It’s easy to discover that its inspiration connects with letter “C” and“D”， the first letter for “Cheng” and “Du”. In addition， these two lettersshow a shape of heart， symbolizing volunteers with responsibility will dotheir best in this event. What’s more， some say it’s the shape of Chinesetraditional calligraphy with both “Si” and “Chuan”. From the design ofthe logo， let’s explore how the logo embodies the city’s spirit. It perfectlycaptures Chengdu citizen’s passion and hospitality.

So， how do these volunteers who have excellent performances duringthe opening ceremony prepare for this big event？ They would take partin the tests， and onlyfew of them can access（通過）to the nextround. Then， the chosencandidates can enterthe next round， trainingtogether for months inorder to reach their full potential. Even though some of them haven’t really appeared on the stage，they said it was worth it.

Now， let’s focus on the volunteers during the opening ceremony. Someof them had to hold the guide board for all the countries about an hour.Besides， there were also volunteers cheering around the playground. Theylined up neatly and kept welcoming every countries and their athletes.Finally， there were a group who didn’t appear on the TV， but behind thestage， or volunteer in stadiums， or answer questions in the competing courtsall over the city.

The Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games has just ended. Thevolunteers amazed the world with their activeness and passion！
