Realizing Your Mistake

Recognize youre wrong. Reflect on your words or actions， know what you didpoorly or wrongly， and try to make any necessary changes as a result.

Admitting4 you were wrong doesnt mean that youre weak. In fact， beingable to own up to your mistakes takes a lot of courage.

Apologizing5

Admitting you were wrong shows that youre willing to accept that you areimperfect and make mistakes. It can be difficult to admit your wrongs， but doing soshows others that youre willing to take responsibility6 for what you do.

If necessary， make a sincere7 apology8. Say something sooner rather thanlater. Waiting to see how things shake out is a bad idea. As soon as a situationstarts being unpleasant， own up to your responsibility in creating it. The sooner theproblem is identified9， the sooner a resolution is possible.

Moving Past the Event

Part of accepting blame and taking responsibility can include making up foryour mistake. Come up with some solutions to right your wrong. Whatever it is，show that youre willing to change to make things better.

Nobodys perfect and everyone makes mistakes. Once youve taken all thesteps to make things right， dont live in guilt or shame. Let go of what happened.Accept what happened， learn from it， and then move on.
