Research on the History and Mechanism of the Integration of Science and Technology Communication and Film and Video:

Taking the Practice of Science and Film Integration in China and the United States as Examples

Abstract:The success of“Wandering Earth 2”is inextricably linked to the in-depth assistance of science advisors,and the practice of promoting the integration of science and entertainment in the United States has a long history. By examining the history of the practice in China and the United States,we can trace the occurrence and development of science-film fusion from its roots and veins. Comparing the structure,operation mechanism,and incentive guarantee system of science-film fusion organizations in China and the United States,we can further reflect on the similarities and differences between the two countries practices. Finally,the article points out the inspiration of the U.S. practice for China to enhance the rational consciousness of the scientific and film communities,increase the breadth and depth of the practice of science-film integration,and build an incentive and guarantee system.

Research on Development Strategy of Chinese Science Popularization Special-Effect Film:Based on the Award-Winning Films in Beijing International Film Festival Science and Technology Section

Abstract:Science popularization special-effect films are an important means of science popularization and education work in science popularization venues. They are beloved by the public because of their science popularization form of combining education with entertainment. Chinese science popularization special-effects film industry has seriously lagged behind the foreign industry. This article sorts out the outstanding films awarded by Beijing International Film Festival Science & Technology Section in the last six sessions,analyzes their experience of success and practices,it is found that the pursuit of creative contents and spectacle characterizes the fantastic films. On this basis,it puts forward suggestions on improving the level of Chinese science popularization of special-effect films that establish a standard system at the industry level,follow the principle of high-quality development by film vendors,solve the problem of uneven film quality from the root,enhances the overall competitiveness of the industry,strengthen policy guidance at the national level,innovate the talent training system,lay the talent foundation for industry development,learn advanced experience while developing a film system with Chinese characteristics,aiming to provide useful ideas for the leapfrog development of this industry in China.

Research on the Communication Innovation of Domestic Science Popularization Documentaries from the Perspective of Topic Marketing

Abstract:Science popularization documentary is an important way and means to carry out science popularization work. Taking the science popularization documentary communication under the current media environment as the research object,this paper examines the difficulties and obstacles of science popularization documentary in the subject selection,narrative mode,type and style,and communication platform under the change of media environment,this paper discusses the new trend of attention distribution reform under the influence of new media technology,platform thinking and user participation,and summarizes the communication innovation path of science popularization documentaries under the guidance of topic marketing. Finally,combined with the needs of science popularization work and the current situation of media ecology,the paper puts forward the communication innovation strategy of science popularization documentaries,focusing on vertical fields and striving for circle communication,focus on micro narration and promote topic development,demonstrate the personality of science popularization and build a differentiated market,multimedia will be deployed to form full media communication.

Research on Matching Supply and Demand of Rural Science Popularization and Path Optimization under the Perspective of New Demand

Abstract:Optimizing the supply and demand structure of rural science popularization is the key to the good development of rural science popularization practice. In the context of the comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization,modern agricultural industries are developing rapidly,and new agricultural organizations and new farmers have generated a lot of new demands for science popularization,which poses a strong challenge to the rural science popularization work system operating in the traditional supply mode at this stage. Based on the preliminary in-depth rural research and village-based interviews,this paper summarizes the four major new demand directions of rural science popularization:talent,platform,resource,and mechanism demand. From the supply and demand model of rural science popularization,we explore the current situation of its supply and demand matching and the main influencing factors and propose four optimization paths worthy of attention in the next step,such as deepening the science and technology commissioner system,establishing a socialized collaborative science popularization service platform,attaching importance to grassroots science and technology demonstration,and building a characteristic science popularization mechanism according to local conditions.

Reflections on the Construction of Socialized Mechanisms for Collaboration in the Modern Science and Technology Museum System

Abstract:It is an inevitable choice for the modern science and technology museum system to provide high-quality science popularization services to the public through establishing socialized mechanisms for collaboration,as well as broad participation from social forces is to be mobilized,to effectively integrate science popularization resources. An examination of the socialized collaborative practices of different components in the science and technology museum system is conducted by utilizing systems theory,synergetics,and social capital theory as analytical tools. On the base of the formation mechanisms of multi-subjects coordination in the science and technology museum system,the development strategies can be drawn as follows:attracting multiple subjects in the construction of the science and technology museums,developing financing channels for the mobile science and technology facilities,improving the structure of the social collaborative platform in the digital science and technology museum,strengthening internal and external linkage mechanism,and building evaluation mechanisms for social collaboration,with the hope to provide a reference for the construction of the science and technology museum system and the path exploration of a widely socialized science popularization pattern.

“Museum Fatigue”in Visits:

Phenomena,Factors and Mitigation Strategies

Abstract:A museum visit is a basic form of informal learning,while“fatigued visitors”or“fatigue of visitors”has always been a hotly debated topic in museum studies. As a well-known phenomenon,museum fatigue has attracted scholarly attention since the early 20th century. By systematically reviewing the literature on museum fatigue at home and abroad,this paper starts from the concept and causes,uncovers potential factors that may impact fatigue,and summarizes the methods,improvements,and limitations of the existing research in measurement and evaluation. On this basis,combined with the essential features of science and technology museums,several valid paths are provided to alleviate museum fatigue,including building healthy environments,optimizing cognitive mode,and establishing interactive dialogue. Research on museum fatigue is of positive significance for promoting the management and utilization of museum resources.

How to Improve University TeachersWillingness of Science Popularization:Environment,Resources,Cost and Satisfaction

Abstract:As the dual roles of educators and researchers,university teachers can play a unique position in popularizing scientific knowledge. This paper aims to explore the influencing factors of university teacherswillingness to popularize science  to achieve the purpose of motivating them. Based on summarizing the path of college teachersparticipation in science popularization and the incentive elements of science popularization willingness in the existing research,it puts forward the hypothesis that the working environment,science popularization resources,personal cost and satisfaction incentive will influence college teacherswillingness to popularize science. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 94 teachers from the state key laboratories of eight universities on Xueyuan Road through the mail survey and the accidental sampling survey. The hypothesis was verified using multiple linear regression analysis. The research results show that science popularization resources can have a positive significant impact,personal costs can have a negative significant impact,and working environment and satisfaction incentives do not significantly impact university teacherswillingness to popularize science education. This paper provides informative suggestions to enhance the willingness of university teachers to popularize science from increasing investment in science popularization,constructing incentive mechanisms for science popularization and developing resources for science popularization in universities.

The Analysis and Enlightenment for Satisfaction of the First Batch of Science PopularizersProfessional Title Evaluation

Abstract:Evaluation of science popularization professional title is the main symbol of the academic technical level and professional ability of science popularizers,which plays an important role in stabilizing the talent team and stimulating their enthusiasm. Taking the first batch of science popularizers who participated in the professional title evaluation of“Library Materials Series(Science Communication)”as the research objects,using questionnaires and semi-structured interviewing,this study analyzes the satisfaction of the participants and the hidden problems in this professional title evaluation from three aspects:evaluation index,evaluation process and evaluation service. The results show that there are still some problems. Although the professional title evaluation of science popularizers in the non-stated sector has been solved,the proportion of participants from these sectors is very small. And then,the propaganda channel is more traditional and does not fully conform to the current habit of obtaining information. Next,the participantssatisfaction with“evaluation standard”and“fair and justice sense”is not ideal. Once again,the evaluation method of representative works is not specified in detail,which is not conducive to the participantsgrasp. Finally,there is room for improvement in the content and methods of expert questioning. In view of above problems,this study puts forward some countermeasures,such as increasing publicity to allow more science popularizers to participate in professional title evaluation,making evaluation standards closer to the reality of science popularization and reflecting differences,refining evaluation methods according to evaluation indexes,and optimizing defense process of“representative achievement”,to ensure the diversification of participants,objectification and moderate transparency of indexes,diversification of evaluation methods,and realization of scientific scoring.

Analysis of the Evolution of Chinas Science Popularization Policy:From the Popularization of Scientific Knowledge to the Promotion of Scientific Literacy

Abstract:This study analyzes the science popularization policy issued since the founding of the Peoples Republic of China. It summarizes the historical development and characteristics of the science popularization policy system according to the policy objectives and content. The study found that Chinas science popularization policies issued in different historical periods have specific objectives,focusing on other ranges and fields and promoting the vigorous development of the national science popularization cause. Under the influence of science popularization policies,science popularization also reflects the historical evolution characteristics,transfer from the science popularization work on scientific knowledge to the comprehensive work aiming at scientific literacy improvement.

An Analysis of the First Administrative Institution in New China

Abstract:The Bureau of Science Popularization was the first specialized science popularization administrative institution under CPUs leadership after PRCs founding. It was the product of implementing the guidelines on science popularization in the new era and represented the importance of science popularization at that time. It tried to establish a national science popularization administrative organization network,created a foundation for establishing science popularization mass organizations,and carried out some model works,etc. Restricted by the characteristics of science popularization work and the level of social development at that time,the Bureau of Science Popularization did not perform its duties well and was finally merged. However,it laid a foundation for the establishment of the national science popularization mass organization and the development of science popularization. It has a milestone significance in the process of science popularization institutionalization in China.

Research on the Innovation Model of the Construction of Science Popularization Expert Think Tanks

Abstract:The Center for China Science Popularization is the strategic deployment of the China Association for Science and Technology(CAST)to build a new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics. The expert think tank is an important component of the  Center for China Science Popularization. It aims to build a cooperation platform that brings together experts from the government,academia,and industry,form a resource database for science popularization think tank intelligence and talent data that integrates experts,intelligence data,and evaluation,and expand the expert cooperation resources of the“Center for China Science Popularization”. It will give full play to the role of science popularization think tanks in providing political advice. It will also help science popularization work  strategically supporting self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology and modernization of national governance. Through case analysis,this paper analyzes the innovation paths of the expert think tank in terms of function positioning,management mechanism,warehousing standard,function design,system planning,etc.,and discusses the innovation mode of expert think tank construction:to achieve conceptual innovation by building an expert think tank development strategy oriented to think tank data governance;to realize practice innovation by creating a data-driven think tank platform for smart expert think tanks.
