Shiseido and L’Oreal ready to set up investment companies in China

On May 10,2022,Shiseido (China) Investment Co.,Ltd invested another company named Xiamen Ziyue Equity Investment Partnership (limited partnership),with the investment proportion being 98%.According to Qichacha,Xiamen Ziyue Equity Investment Partnership (limited partnership) was founded on May 10,2022.And its executive partners are Shiseido Ziyue (Shanghai) Management and Consultation Co.,Ltd and Ningbo Boyujinghua Investment Management Co.,Ltd with the registered capital as 501 million yuan.The management involves equity investment,investment management and asset management by way of private equity fund.Shiseido (China) Investment Co.,Ltd,Shiseido Ziyue(Shanghai) Management and Consultation Co.,Ltd,and Ningbo Boyujinghua Investment Management Co.Ltd hold about 98%,1.8% and 0.2% stocks respectively of the company of Xiamen Ziyue Equity Investment Partnership (limited partnership).
On May 8,L’Oreal announced it would establish its first investment company in China-Shanghai Meicifang Investment Co.,Ltd located in Linggang Nanqiao Sci-Tech City within the central area of Oriental Beauty Valley in Fengxian District,Shanghai,which was committed to investing innovative cosmetics technology.The investment was endorsed by Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development.According to L’Oreal,Meicifang were targeting at three kinds of potential cosmetics startups involving cosmetics start-up brands,cosmetics break-through technology project as well as new cosmetics technology services.
In fact,the past two years witnessed the rise of cosmetics incubators.Apart from L’Oreal and Shiseido,they included JNJ which launched innovation incubators,BDF which released NX China (NIVEA Accelerator) as well as Unilever which introduced U-innovation incubators.CDC
