几组易混介词短语辨析

介词短语在英语中很常见，由于看起来很简单，因此极易让人忽略。对此，笔者分析了初中英语中几组容易混淆的介词短语，以期同学们能够引起高度重视，准确把握和应用。

一、after all， in all， above all

对于 after all， in all， above all这三个介词短语，不少同学容易混淆不清。实际上，它们的意义截然不同。

1.after all意为“毕竟，终究，居然”。例如：

After all， 30 minutes of exercise is better than nothing.

毕竟，锻炼30分钟比不锻炼要好。

Dontbe angry. After all， its just a puppy， right？

你不要生气。它终究不过是一条小狗嘛，是吧？

I passed the exam，after all.

我居然还是通过了考试。

2.in all，意为“总共，合计”。例如：

There are thirty-nine books on the shelf in all.

书架上总共有39本书。

Thenumberof the people presentatthe meeting is 1000 in all.

出席会议的人数共计1000人。

3.above all 意为“尤其是，最重要的是”，起强调作用。例如：

Above all，you should keep calm.

最重要的是，你应该保持冷静。

We should respect people around us，above all the aged people.

我们应该尊重身边的人，尤其是老人。

二、in the way， by the way， on the way

in the way， by the way， on the way 这三个带有“way”的介词短语，不少同学容易错用。事实上，因为前面的介词不同，所以它们的含义是有所差异的。

1.in the way表示“阻碍，挡道”。例如：

A large tree was in the way.

一棵大树挡着路了。

This chair is too close to the door， it gets in the way.

这椅子放在门口太碍事了。

2.by the way 表示“顺便说一下，顺便问一下，顺便一提”。例如：

By the way， you don't need to pick me up at the airport.

顺便说一下，你不需要来机场接我。

By the way， would you like to go to play football with us？

顺便问一下，你愿意和我们一起去踢足球吗？

3.on the way表示“在路上，在途中”，其后接名词时，往往需要添加上 to，但是接 here， there， home 等表示地点的副词时则不用to。例如：

The boy picked up a wallet on his way to school.

小男孩在上学的路上捡到一个钱包。

1.in no time意为“立刻，马上，很快”，常用于句末。例如：

她闭上眼，立刻就睡着了

Don'tworry，we'll be out in no time.

别担心，我们马上就能出去。

The kids will be home in no time.

孩子们很快就要到家了。

2.at no time意为“决不，从不，从来没有”，用于句首时，句子需要倒装。例如：

At no time did I agree the plan.

我从未同意过这项计划。

At no time does he watch the adverts onTV.

他从不看电视广告。

At no time can we give up learning.

我们决不能放弃学习。

3.at one time意为“一度，曾经”，可以用于句首，也可以用句末。例如：

At one time， the old man was an excellent teacher.

这位老人曾经是一位优秀的老师。

People believed that the earth wasflat at one time.

人們一度认为地球是平的。

总之，介词短语虽毫不起眼，但实则不可小看。在平时的英语学习中，同学们切不可忽视介词短语，尤其是对于那些相似、易混淆和出错的介词短语，要注意整理，仔细辨析其异同，把握其用法，从而夯实基础。
