王毅:秉持践行正确的民主观、发展观、安全观、秩序观
2022-06-22
On June 1, 2022, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi delivered a video speech entitled “Strengthen Solidarity and Cooperation and Improve Global Governance” to the China-Russia High-level Think Tank Forum.
Wang Yi said, at present, global systemic risks are mounting, and the global governance system is facing unprecedented challenges. Faced with this major question related to the destiny of mankind, all countries should uphold and follow the right outlooks on democracy, development, security and order, and make the global governance system more just and equitable.
First, promote the outlook on democracy that puts people first and advocates openness and inclusiveness. The acts that monopolize the definition of democracy, impose values and interfere in other countries internal affairs under the guise of democracy and human rights win no support and lead nowhere. The international community should work together to promote true democracy in line with national conditions and peoples will.
Second, uphold the outlook on development featuring balance, coordination, universal benefits and win-win results. Emerging markets and the vast developing countries should jointly uphold all countries legitimate right to development, establish a broad development partnership, contribute to the global post-pandemic recovery, and realize more robust, greener and sounder development.
Third, stay committed to the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security. Humankind shares weal and woe, and global security is indivisible. Only by firmly pursuing the vision of win-win results and accommodating the security of others while seeking ones own security can we blaze a path of security featuring mutual benefit and win-win results and truly form a global community of security for all.
Fourth, follow the vision on order featuring equality, respect, unity and cooperation. International rules should be jointly written by all countries, and international justice should be jointly safeguarded by all countries. Efforts should be made to enable the global governance system to reflect the will and interests of the majority of countries, especially emerging markets and the vast developing countries, in a more balanced way. We should firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order underpinned by international law, and continuously promote greater democracy in international relations.
