一、put on表示“穿戴”的动作,其后接鞋、袜、衣帽等名词作宾语;宾语若是代词须放在put与on之间。如:
It’s very cold outside. You’d better put on your coat. 外面很冷,你最好穿上外衣。
The socks are here. Please put them on. 袜子在这儿,请穿上。
二、wear常作及物动词,表示“穿着”的状态,用一般现在时表示经常性状态,用现在进行时表示暂时性状态。另外wear还可表示“穿、戴”动作的延续。如:
Lucy often wears a red coat. 露丝经常穿着一件红外衣。
Miss Qin is wearing a beautiful dress today. 今天秦小姐穿着一件漂亮的衣服。
She has worn this pair of glasses for eight years. 这副眼镜她已经戴了8年。
三、have on着重强调“穿着、戴着”的状态,相当于wear。但have on不能用于现在进行时。如:
Mr. Wang often has his jacket on. 王老师经常穿着他的夹克衫。
四、try on表示“试穿”,指试的动作,但若宾语是代词时,应将其放在try与on之间。如:
These shoes are very nice. Can I try them on? 这些鞋子很漂亮,我可以试穿吗?
五、dress既可表示状态,又可表示动作;可作名词,又可作动词。
1. 表示穿衣这个动作,作及物动词时,宾语只能是人,其后常接反身代词。如:
The girl is so young that she can’t dress herself. 這个女孩太小以至于不能自己穿衣服。
2. dress up指穿着讲究,有盛装打扮的意思。如:
As a middle school student, don’t dress up. 作为一名中学生,不准化妆。
Jim dressed up in a black hat. 吉姆戴着一顶黑色的帽子来打扮自己。
3. be dressed in表示穿着的状态,后接衣物之类的词。如:
She was dressed in a new skirt last week. 上周她穿了一件新裙子。
六、in是介词,表示状态,意为“穿着”,其后常接表示颜色的形容词,在句中常作定语、表语、状语等。如:
My father is in black today. 我的爸爸今天穿着黑色衣服。
The boy in a hat is my elder brother. 戴着帽子的男孩是我的哥哥。
