With exciting moves and music, breaking is a sport like no other. Also known as break dancing, it was recently announced① as one of the sports that will be part of the Olympics for the first time when the Games are held in Paris, France, in 2024.

In breaking, dancers are known as B-girls and B-boys. The UKs toppest B-girl is 14-year-old Terra. She is from England.

Terra is one of the most famous young breakers in the world. She won her first international competition at the age of five. At six, she danced on TV with her sister in the US. One YouTube video of her breaking has nearly 22 million views.

Terra is known for the move where she spins② on her head. “Head-spinning is not scary for me,” she says. “Its really fun and I can do it for a long time.”

“Im really excited that breaking will be at the Olympics. I really want to win the gold medal,” Terra tells The Week Junior. “Its great that it will help more people to know about breaking.”

In a breaking competition, called a battle③, two dancers take turns to show their routine④. The dancers are given points according to their creativity, technique and variety of moves. The dancer with the highest score wins.
