《心灵奇旅》是由彼特·道格特执导的动画电影，由杰米·福克斯、蒂娜·菲等参与配音。电影讲述了梦想成为爵士钢琴家的男主乔·高纳与厌世的灵魂二十二相遇，伴随着一系列荒诞有趣的事件，它们携手返回现实世界寻找生命的意义的故事。
剧情简介：乔是一个生活毫无新意的中学音乐老师，他真正的梦想是成为钢琴家，不是像他现在做的一样只教孩子们弹钢琴，而是以做音乐、弹奏爵士乐为生。当他终于拿到人生第一份爵士弹奏家的工作时，却不小心跌进井里“死”了。他在一个黑洞中醒来，成了一个孤独的灵魂。不久，他发现自己不是独自一“魂”，而是到了“本我研讨会”。另一个外号叫二十二的灵魂已经参加了研讨会数百年，它极度憎恨人类，一直未去附体。很快，乔和二十二一起回到现实世界，在那里，乔将找回对生活的热情，学会什么是真正的“有了灵魂”。在这过程中发生了一些惊险有趣的小故事，不知不觉中，二十二也找到了自己的火花，想要体验投胎做人的乐趣。那么，到底什么才是“火花”？到底什么样的灵魂才是我们想要的？

就在乔等待演出欣喜若狂之际，以为自己的精彩人生即将开始，意外发生了。他不小心跌进了井里，灵魂飞去了另一个世界。带着来不及实现梦想的遗憾，乔掉落到了一个梦幻之境，顺便盗用了一个博士的身份来逃避灰飞烟灭。一个“灵魂导师”告诉他，这是人来到世界之前的地方，而乔需要帮助他负责的二十二寻找“火花”合成地球通行证，顺利让它前往地球生活。而乔则打定主意，到时候拿二十二的通行证重返人间。然而，二十二是个油盐不进的“老油条”，它会发现眼前这个“博士”是假的吗？它能找到自己的“火花”吗？

二十二和乔一起跌落到了地球，可惜乔的灵魂附在了一只猫咪上，而二十二却占有了乔原来的身体。这样错位的人生也是整部电影最有趣的部分。他俩为了补西装，不得不去乔的母亲的裁缝店。为了区分角色，猫咪说话的声音是乔的原声，而乔说话的声音则是二十二的原声。这段对话的后半段为了体现乔说的心底话，即使通过乔的肉体（二十二的灵魂）说出来，用的也是乔的原声，所以你们会感觉乔说话有两种截然不同的声线。只有在交换灵魂的时候，乔才有勇气说出这番话吧。乔的母亲能够理解他吗？
