你们究竟要我们怎样生存？

When we were the Sick Man of Asia， we were called the Yellow Peril.
When we are billed as the next Superpower， we are called The Threat.
When we closed our doors， you launched the Opium War to open our markets.
When we embraced free trade， you blamed us for stealing your jobs.
When we were falling apart， you marched in your troops and demanded your fair share.
When we tried to put the broken pieces back together again， “Free Tibet，” you screamed. “It was an Invasion！”
When we tried communism， you hated us for being communist.
When we embraced capitalism， you hated us for being capitalist.
When we had a billion people， you said we were destroying the planet.
When we tried limiting our numbers， you said we abused human rights.
When we were poor， you thought we were dogs.
When we lend you cash， you blame us for your national debts.
When we build our industries， you call us polluters.
When we sell you goods， you blame us for global warming.
When we buy oil， you call it exploitation and genocide.
When you go to war for oil， you call it liberation.
When we were lost in chaos， you demanded the rule of law.
When we uphold law and order against violence， you call it a violation of human rights.
When we were silent， you said you wanted us to have free speech.
When we are silent no more， you say we are brainwashed xenophobes.
Why do you hate us so much？ We asked.
No， you answered， we dont hate you.
We dont hate you either，
But do you understand us？
Of course we do， you said，
We have AFP， CNN and BBC...
What do you really want from us？
Think hard first， then answer...
Because you only get so many chances.
Enough is Enough， Enough Hypocrisy for This One World.
We want One World， One Dream， and Peace on Earth.
This Big Blue Earth is Big Enough for all of us.
過去骂我们“东亚病夫”，还说什么“黄祸”;
现在鼓吹我们是未来的超级大国，还说是“威胁”。
那时我们闭关自守，你们走私鸦片，强开门户;
我们实行了自由贸易，却被责怪抢了你们饭碗。
那时我们风雨飘摇，你们铁蹄犯境，索要利益均等;
我们收拾破碎山河，你们叫嚣“藏独”，污我侵略。
那时我们马列救国，你们恼恨我们信仰共产主义;
我们迈入市场经济，你们厌恶：那是剥削的资本主义。
那时我们人口十亿，你们认为是毁灭地球;
我们努力控制人数，你们指责：那是人权凌辱。
那时我们一贫如洗，被你们看作牛马般低贱;
我们借给你们钱，反遭抱怨：令尔等国债高筑。
我们发展工业，你们说我们制造污染;
我们卖给你们产品，却说我们把地球变暖。
我们购买石油，你们诽谤是掠夺是屠戮;
你们为石油开战，谎称是正义是解救苦难。
那时我们动乱无序，被你们说成没有法治;
我们需要依法平暴，却说我们把人权侵犯。
那时我们静默无声，你们叫嚷言论自由不足;
我们不再保持沉默，则被认为洗了脑仇视外人。
我们不禁要问：“你们为什么这样憎恨我们？”
你们回答：“不，不恨你们。”
我们也不恨你们，
然而，你们是否了解我们？
“当然了解，”你们说，
“通过AFP、CNN，还有BBC……”
你们究竟要我们怎样生存？
回答之前，还须思量再三……
因为你们再也不是机会无限。
够了，够了，这个世界容不下你们更多的伪善矫情。
我们想要的是：同一个世界，同一个梦想，还有和平与安宁。
这个辽阔的蓝色星球上，容得下你们，也容得下我们。
