Let Our Earth Mother Smile

One day I saw a cartoon named “Our earth mother is crying”in a magazine.The cartoon deeply touched me to the heart.

Once our earth mother was so beautiful and happy！She gave us fresh air，clean water and beautiful scenery.There were pretty flowers and green trees everywhere.We could hear birds singing in the trees.We could see fish swimming in the rivers.Our earth mother made us feel comfortable and fit. We had a happy life.

But some people are like naughty children！They cut down lots of trees and destroy lots of farms to build factories and houses.A large number of harmful gas floats into the air. A lot of waste water flows into rivers.In some places we can see so much rubbish like a hill .The sky is no more blue.The air is no more fresh. The water is no more clear. Some mountains are no more green.Many people even have no clean water to drink. The environment around us is getting worse and worse.Our earth mother is badly hurt. She is crying.Arent you sad？

So we have to do something for her.We must improve and protect the environment. But what can we do？

As young pioneers，we must take active action from now on to be little environmental protection guardians.

We can go to school on foot or by bike in instead of by car.We had better use baskets or cloth bags instead of plastic ones when shopping.We should use both sides of paper when writing.Dont use disposable bowls and chopsticks to have lunch in our school canteen.No littering everywhere. Whenever we see rubbish on the ground，we should pick it up and throw it into the dustbin.We must sort the rubbish consciously and collect waste paper，bottles and plastic for recycling.

Never spit everywhere.Never scribbling on public walls.Turn off the lights and fans in the classroom when leaving.Turn off the water tap after washing.Plant more trees and flowers around us.

In a word，if everybody pays more attention to our environment，there will be less pollution. Our environment will get better and better.Again our earth mother will be happy and smile！And well have a better life.
