Daddy和Mummy决定国庆节假期里带Peppa和George去国外旅行，他们建议两个孩子提早做好旅行攻略。George开心得一蹦三尺高：“Oh， I’m so exciting！”

Peppa：George，你激动得单词都用错啦！Exciting和excited都是形容词，都表示激动、兴奋的意思，但表示的对象不同。Exciting表示某事物令人兴奋的，而excited的对象是人。所以你应该说：I’m so excited.

George：What exciting news！I am so excited！

（多么激动人心的消息啊！我太兴奋了！）

Peppa：Mummy is very excited， too. Listen， she is singing excitedly in the garden. （妈妈也很兴奋。听，她正在花园里兴奋地唱着歌呢。）

George：哈哈，Peppa你也用错词了吧，怎么是sing excitedly呢？

Peppa：Excitedly是副词，兴奋地，是形容词excited加-ly变来的，一般用在动词后面，这里的sing是动词啊。

Look， Daddy is watching TV excitedly.

（看，爸爸正在兴奋地看电视。）

There’s an exciting football match on TV.

（电视上有一场激动人心的足球赛。）

George：哦，我好像明白了。还有类似excited和exciting这样的词语吗？

Peppa：当然有啊，interested和interesting，bored和boring，surprised和surprising，等等。如：

1. The story is very interesting. 这个故事很有趣。

I’m interested in music. 我对音乐感兴趣。

2. The book is very boring. 这本书很枯燥。

I feel very bored. 我感到很烦。

3. It is surprising news. 这是个令人惊讶的消息。

We are surprised at your words. 对于你的话我们感到很诧异。

George：我记住了，遇到这类相似的形容词，要先辨别清楚是针对人的，还是针对某件事情，这样就不会错了。

Daddy和Mummy正在商量去哪儿，乘坐什么交通工具去，Peppa和George 也加入了讨论。

Daddy：How about going to Egypt？ How can we get there？ By air？

（去埃及怎么样？我们怎么到达那儿呢？乘飞机吗？）

Peppa：Oh， I don’t want to go by plane. （我不想坐飞机去。）

It’s not safe to take a plane， do you remember “Boeing 737 Max” ？

（乘飞机不安全，你们记得“波音737”吗？）

George：We may travel by sea， it’s safer.

（我们可以乘船去旅行，这样更安全。）

Daddy：飞机出事故也是极少发生的，不必太介意乘坐飞机。

1. Road safety is really very important. 道路安全真的是很重要。

2. We must follow the traffic rules， and stay safe on the road.

我们必须遵守交通規则，在路上保持安全。

3. To keep safe， we must wait on the pavement.

为了保持安全，我们必须在人行道上等待。

4. We must cross the road safely. 我们必须要安全地穿过马路。

George：Safe， safely和safety，听得我好晕啊！

Mummy：Safe安全的，是形容词，一般用法是be safe或放在名词前修饰名词;safely安全地，是副词，一般跟在动词后面;safety安全，是名词。

George：这些我都能理解，但stay safe，keep safe是为什么呢？

Mummy：系动词stay和keep，意思是“保持”，相当于be动词，后面也用形容词。类似的系动词还有look（看起来），feel（感到），smell（闻起来），sound（听起来），become（变得），get（变得），等等。如：

look happy 看起来开心 look sad 看起来难过

feel tired 感觉累 feel thirsty 感觉渴

smell nice 闻起来很好 sound great 听起来很棒

become cloudy 变得多云的 get angry 变得生气的

Peppa：嘻嘻，我也听懂了！真希望旅行的日子快点到来！
