Assembly集结号

In the winter of 1948， Captain Gu Zidi and the Ninth Company（连） were dispatched（奉命） to the old mine（窑场） on the south bank of the Wen River to intercept（拦截） the enemy’s 254th Division（师）. They must fight until the retreat（撤退） assembly call（集结号） was sounded.

They destroyed（击毁） three enemy tanks（坦克） and killed many enemy soldiers. Except for（除了） Captain Gu Zidi， all forty-seven men were killed. After the war， Gu Zidi returned to the old mine. He was still alone in believing what happened here.

In the winter of 1958， the  bodies  of  forty-seven

men were found（被找到）. All soldiers in the Ninth Company are awarded（授予） Medals of Valor（中华人民共和国解放奖章） .

Gu Zidi is the Captain of the 9th Company， 3rd Battalion（营），  139th Regiment（团）， the Special 2nd Division of the Liberation Army（中原野战军）. He struggled（努力） his entire（全部的） life to return the honor to his forty-seven men.

Jiao Dapeng is the Lieutenant（排長） of the 9th Company. He is Gu Zidi’s best partner. On the brink（边缘） of death， he said that he heard the call and asked Gu Zidi to retreat with the remaining（剩下的） soldiers.

Sun Guiqin is the wife of Gu Zidi’s fellow solider（战友） Wang Jincun. Wang Jincun is the Political Officer（指导员） of the 9th Company. She believed in the death of her husband only upon hearing it from Gu Zidi.

Always listen for the assembly bugle call，fall back whenever we hear it.

不管几点钟，以集结号为令，随时准备撤退。

If you don’t hear the bugle call， even if you’re the last man standing， you will keep fighting.

听不见号声，你就是打剩下最后一个人，也得给我接着打下去。

Captain， let’s go. Lead us out of here. If we don’t go， we’ll all die.

连长，咱们走吧。你带大伙走吧。再不走，就都打光了。

The assembly call keeps ringing in my ears. It never stops playing. All my men heard it. I was the only one who didn’t. I might as well be dead. Then I could see my 47 brothers.

那集结号堵着我的耳朵没完没了地吹。我那帮兄弟们都听见了，就我没听见。我也应该死的，人没了就没了，就见着我那四十七个弟兄了。
