Advanced technology in China

Abstract:The impact of using advanced technology such as mobile phones,computers,apps and online platforms,in the context of learning English as a foreign language in China.The methods of advanced learning have changed with the current changes in technology.

China has been ranked internationally as the country with the most advanced technology in the world. For instance,with the current technological advancements in China,English language can be learned quickly.For example,Through,the use of advanced technology computer-based learning,the whole country can learn English with much freedom,accessibility and ease.English language skills are now regarded as beneficial to the Chinese economy.Research illustrates that China has recently been using and implementing technology-based learning (Zhang and Yin,2009).
With the development of Information Technology,international technology and communication technology in China,using advanced technology to learn English as a foreign language has become a new trend.Research indicates that the efficiency and quality of English language learning has been improved with the utilisation of advanced technology,such as smart phones and mobile learning(Wang and Wang,2019).Computers were introduced to the language learning field in the 1960s (Wang and Wang,2019)as CALL(Computer Assisted Language Learning).There was much support for the use of computers in English language learning and it was found there were many advantages for both English language learners and teachers.
Nowadays,information and communication technology(ICT)exerts a profound influence in the English language-learning environment not only in China,but also globally.Advanced technology such as the internet and mobile technology makes available unlimited multimedia learning materials from all over the world to learners at any location in the world (distance education).This is true so long as there is a computer,mobile phone or tablet devices with internet access(Alsunbul,2002).
With the rapid development of the economy and other social changes in China,there are many trade communications between China and other countries.Due to globalisation and trading requirements,the English language has come to exert a key influence on Chinese culture,scientific research,technology,economy and politics as a universal language.Therefore,the necessity for English language teaching and learning along with competency in ICT has increased.University students need to possess excellent English language skills and universities have had to meet this need.The use of advanced technology to teach and learn English as a foreign language at university level has therefore gradually increased.
Current teaching practices within university education have provided the Chinese government with an incentive to provide competency-based Information Technology learning processes for studying the English language.As a result of globalization and an acceptance of diversity,many students from other countries have enrolled in China's Universities.As a result,China has had no option other than to accept the necessity of teaching and learning the English language.Cultural diversity has,therefore,paved the way for the use of new technological advances in the teaching and learning of the English language in China(Zhang and Yin,2009).Accordingly,China has also adapted to current changes in the economy with the introduction of the English language.
Generally,technology has taken the world on a different level through its integration with the English language.The situation cannot be compared to the past,where people used to learn based on their language and culture. Nowadays,there is cultural diversity,and people have been exchanging culture which has promoted the aspects of learning the English language (Grant,2011).For instance,the value of international scholarships has increased because most people have learned English and have become more educated,unlike before.Technology keeps on changing day in day out,and economies like China can easily benefit from technology.China should,therefore,apply most of the technological innovations to teach and promote the English language.Therefore,a significant impact of technology on the English language process in China has positively impacted its language development.
Mobile phone technology has supported the learning of English in various respects.Through internet mobile technology applications have been designed,which has solved the external challenges of learning the language.People now learn the English language over the phone at their own pace.The aspect of learning English at their own pace gives the learners freedom and time for understanding,unlike when attending classes physically.A significant number of people in the world have learned many foreign languages over the phone.Most countries have accepted the integration of technology to the learning process in their countries.
