【Abstract】Objective: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture at Fengchi acupoint on behavioral symptomology and cerebral blood flow in experimental migraine rats. Methods: 40 SD rats were selected and divided into 4 groups according to the principle of weight balance (control group, model group, Fengchi acupuncture group, non-acupoint electroacupuncture group ), 10 rats in each group, half male and half female. The control group were given normal capture and no treatment. The model group was established by reference model of nitroglycerin-type migraine rat model replication and no treatment after modeling. The Fengchi acupuncture group (rats after modeling) and non- electroacupuncture group (rats after modeling) were treated with electroacupuncture, alternating 2Hz and 100Hz with sparse wave, and stimulation time was 10 min, and then the brain blood flow (PU value) of the rat head was tested with TS laser probe. Results: After acupuncture, the rats in the Fengchi acupuncture group and the non-acupoint electroacupuncture group could reduce the duration of ear redness, the duration of forearm scratching and the number of head scratching in each period, which was statistically significant (P<0.05, P<0.01), in which the Fengchi acupoint group was superior to the non-acupoint group, which was statistically significant (P<0.01). After acupuncture, the cerebral blood flow of the Fengchi acupoint group and the non-acupoint group migraine rats increased. The Fengchi acupoint group was significantly better than the non-acupoint group, which was statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture at Fengchi and non-acupoints can reduce the duration of ear redness, the duration of forearm scratching and the number of head scratching in rats. The Fengchi acupoint group is better than non-acupoint group. The electroacupuncture at Fengchi Point can improve the cerebral blood flow in migraine rats after acupuncture and the Fengchi acupoint group was superior to the non-acupoint group.
