完美口音是怎样炼成的——王洛勇的英语路

最近，后三国历史题材古装大剧《虎啸龙吟》热播。戏中，诸葛亮由著名演员王洛勇饰演，精湛演技赢得一片赞誉；戏外，王洛勇饱含深情朗诵了英文版《出师表》，完美口音引发无数惊叹。

臣亮言：先帝创业未半而中道崩殂，

Permit me Liang to observe:the late Emperor was taken from us before he could finish his life's work，the restoration of the Han.

*late：已去世的

今天下三分，益州疲弊，此诚危急存亡之秋也。

Today， the empire is still divided into three，and our very survival is threatened.

然侍卫之臣不懈于内，忠志之士忘身于外者，

Yet still the officials at court and the soldiers throughout the realm remain loyal to you，your majesty.

*realm：国土

盖追先帝之殊遇，欲报之于陛下也。

Because they remember the late Emperor，all of them，and they wish to repay his kindness in service to you.

诚宜开张圣听，以光先帝遗德，恢弘志士之气，

This is the moment to extend your divine influence，to honor the memory of the late Emperor and strengthen the morale of your officers.

*divine：神圣的 *morale：士气

不宜妄自菲薄，引喻失义，以塞忠谏之路也。

It is not the time to listen to bad advice，or close your ears to the suggestions of loyal men.

(宫中府中，俱为一体，陟罚臧否，不宜异同。若有作奸犯科及为忠善者，宜付有司论其刑赏，以昭陛下平明之理，不宜偏私，使内外异法也。侍中、侍郎郭攸之、费祎、董允等，此皆良实，志虑忠纯，是以先帝简拔以遗陛下。愚以为宫中之事，事无大小，悉以咨之，然后施行，必能裨补阙漏，有所广益。将军向宠，性行淑均，晓畅军事，试用之于昔日，先帝称之曰能，是以众议举宠为督。愚以为营中之事，悉以咨之，必能使行阵和睦，优劣得所。)

亲贤臣，远小人，此先汉所以兴隆也；

The emperors of the Western Han chose their courtiers wisely，and their dynasty flourished.

亲小人，远贤臣，此后汉所以倾颓也。

The emperors of the Eastern Han chose poorly，and they doomed the empire to ruin.

*doom：使失败

先帝在时，每与臣论此事，未尝不叹息痛恨于桓、灵也。

Whenever the late Emperor discussed the problem with me，he lamented the failings of Emperors Huan and Ling.

*lament：叹息；痛恨

（侍中、尚书、长史、参军，此悉贞良死节之臣，愿陛下亲之信之，则汉室之隆，可计日而待也。）

臣本布衣，躬耕于南阳，苟全性命于乱世，不求闻达于诸侯。

I began as a common man，farming in my fields in Nanyang then，doing what I could to survive in an age of chaos.I never had any interest in making a name for myself as a noble.

先帝不以臣卑鄙，猥自枉屈，三顾臣于草庐之中，咨臣以当世之事，

The late Emperor was not ashamed to visit my cottage and seek my advice.

由是感激，遂许先帝以驱驰。

Grateful for his regard，I responded to his appeal and threw myself into his service.

尔来二十有一年矣。先帝知臣谨慎，故临崩寄臣以大事也。

Now 21 years have past.The late Emperor always appreciated my caution and， in his final days， entrusted me with his cause.

受命以来，夙夜忧叹，恐托付不效，以伤先帝之明，

Since that moment，I have been tormented day and night by the fear that I might let him down.

*torment:烦忧

故五月渡泸，深入不毛。

That is why I crossed the Lu river at the height of summer，and entered the wastelands beyond.

*at the height of：在最鼎盛之时

今南方已定，兵甲已足，

Now the south has been subdued，and our forces are fully armed.

*subdue：征服

当奖率三军，北定中原，庶竭驽钝，攘除奸凶，兴复汉室，还于旧都。

I should lead our soldiers to conquer the northern heartland and attempt to remove the hateful traitors，restore the house of Han，and return it to the former capital.

此臣所以报先帝而忠陛下之职分也。

This is the way I mean to honor my debt to the late Emperor and fulfill my duty to you.

(至于斟酌损益，进尽忠言，则攸之、祎、允之任也。)

愿陛下托臣以讨贼兴复之效，

My only desire is to be permitted to drive out the traitors and restore the Han.

不效，则治臣之罪，以告先帝之灵。

If I let you down，punish my offense and report it to the spirit of the late Emperor.

(若无兴德之言，则责攸之、祎、允等之慢，以彰其咎；)

陛下亦宜自谋，以咨诹善道，察纳雅言，深追先帝遗诏，

Your Majesty，consider your course of action carefully.Seek out good advice，and never forget the last words of the late Emperor.

臣不胜受恩感激。今当远离，

I depart now on a long expedition，and I will be forever grateful if you heed my advice.

*expedition：远征 *heed：听从

临表涕零，不知所言。

Blinded by my own tears，I know not what I write.

王洛勇的英语路

1985年，王洛勇初到美国，就只会几句简单的日常英语。因为英语不过关，他被学校请退。在即将被遣返中国的最后一刻，他找到了接收单位。

1991年，《西贡小姐》在百老汇公演，王洛勇看后心想：如果我演男一号可以演得更好。于是他跑到后台，开始应聘“工程师”这个角色。可是导演一听英语不是他的母语立马就否定了。他马上说：“我可以学习，可以练习，可以模仿！”

之后他蓄发明志，和自己较起了劲：“不学会英语，就绝不剪发。”两个月后，他把台词背了出来，再去应聘。结果导演说他演得一塌糊涂！他就去问制作部门为什么还是不行，人家告诉他身为一个亚裔演员，他的英语有口音。后来，英语专家告诉他：“你们亚洲人说英语，后槽牙开合的程度不够”。

于是，王洛勇就一门心思练起了发音。一位教授为了校正他的发音，让他咬木塞练习。一次，王洛勇到海边玩，发现石头坚硬，就试着把石头含在嘴里，此后，他天天含着石头练习发音。

英语练得差不多了，他第三次去应聘，仍然没过。他当时就定下目标：“一定要进入百老汇演戏。”时间过得很快，一年过去了，王洛勇无时无刻不在为这个角色做准备，开车时在唱，等人时在唱，休息时在唱。

有朋友劝王洛勇放弃，可是王洛勇没有放弃，哪怕只有一丝希望，他也会努力。他第四次去应聘，又落选了。

王洛勇仍然没有灰心，他学会了这个角色所有的台词、歌曲甚至舞蹈，无论从演唱还是表演的要求来说，王洛勇都绝对胜任，但他八次应聘全都失败了。

八次碰壁后，他终于在百老汇音乐剧《西贡小姐》中获得了一个重要角色——“工程师”，《纽约时报》盛赞他的表演“令人震惊”。

Eight times he knocked on the door of Broadway and finally， with his “electric” acting as praised by New York Times， he secured for himself the pivotal核心的role of“the Engineer” in the Broadway musical“Miss Saigon”.

王洛勇开演时，他一举手、一投足都充满激情，一个唱腔、一句台词都恰到好处。他不仅让自己发挥到最佳状态，还把其他演员也带到了超水平发挥的状态。

了解王洛勇的人都知道，王洛勇在美国留学期间因6年连演2，478场音乐剧《西贡小姐》而成为蜚声国际的百老汇华裔表演艺术家，其精湛的演技使他享有“百老汇华裔第一人”的美誉。

他也被美国《纽约时报》等媒体赞为“百老汇的百年奇迹”，填补了百老汇历史上没有亚洲人演主角的空白。

1999年，王洛勇在百老汇主演《西贡小姐》获得了美国福克斯演员奖最佳男演员奖，但因他在美国十多年里都没怎么演过正派人物，所以总感觉被别人瞧不起，因而最终决定回国发展。

在《纽约时报》1997～1998年的戏剧评论（The New York Times Theater Reviews 1997～1998）中，作者对百老汇四大名剧 《猫》（Cats）、《歌剧魅影》（Phantom）、《西贡小姐》（Miss Saigon）以及 《悲惨世界》（Les Misérables）进行了比较批评。文章称，王洛勇的精彩表演为百老汇 《西贡小姐》画上了浓墨重彩的一笔。 相较《悲惨世界》而言，《猫》《歌剧魅影》《西贡小姐》的脉络更加清晰。三部剧中均有许多杰出的表演，而其中王洛勇在《西贡小姐》中饰演的工程师（乔纳森·普莱斯）一角更是精彩，他对角色的重新塑造完全可以称得上耀眼。他提升了整部剧的水平。

There are several outstanding performances in the three shows， and one， by Luoyong Wang， the reigning engineer of Miss Saigon，is better than that.His portrayal is nothing less than a dazzling reinterpretation that raises the level of the entire show.

精瘦的王先生是位中国人，他不仅符合这个角色的生理特征，而且更将角色演绎得非常接地气。

The wiry Mr Wang， a native of China， is not only physically right for the part，but also plays it closer to the ground.
