Class Sixty Seven ,Grade One

一、The analysis of the Status and function

The reading material is from Section B(2a-2c),Unit 6 Im watching TV,Grade One(Peoples education press. ).This is a passage ,Which focused on the topic of the Dragon Boat Festival . It introduces Zhu Huis activities before the festival in the USA,expresses his feeling of missing his family. Its helpful to improve the Ss reading ability.

二、The analysis of the students situlation

The students have learnt a lot of the Dragon Boat Festival in their daily lives, so they should be familiar with it . However, some students are not good at English. Whats worse, they almost never have classes in English.

三、Teaching Objectives

By the end of the class,You can achieve the following goals:

(1)To know the main meaning and some details by using fast reading or detail reading

(2) Cros-Cultural Awareness:To know the traditional festival,such as the Dragon Boat Festival.

四、Key and Difficult Points

1) Reading meterials. (Key Point)

2)The present progressive tense.( Difficult Point)

七、Teaching process

Part One: Lead-in:

Show some photos about the Dragon Boat Festival and zongzi. Talk about the idoms.

Ts: Look at the picture,please.How many people are in the picture?What are they doing?Well talk about what people are doing.

Part Two.Pre-reading

1. Show some photos about the Dragon Boat Festival and zongzi. Predict the article.

2.Brainstorm: a student from,live with sb. make zongzi,watch the races,a Dragon Boat Festival,host family,read a story,,watch a soccer game,talk on the phone to sb.miss sb.wish to do sth.have zongzi,like sb. a lot,

Part Three:While-reading

First time:Fast Reading

Read the article and answer the question.

Second time:Detail Reading

Read the article again, then fulfill the following questions.

Part Four:Post reading
