China Launches GF-11 Atop a LM-4B

China launched the GF-11 satellite on a LM-4B carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center at 11:00 Beijing time on July 31, 2018.
The GF-11 satellite was developed by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST). It is an optical remote sensing satellite with the ground pixel resolution of sub-meter level, as part of China’s high-resolution Earth observation project. The satellite can be used for land survey, urban planning, road network design, agriculture, disaster relief, and also can provide guarantee information for major national strategy implementation and defense modernization.

The LM-4B launch vehicle was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST). The LM-4 series launch vehicle has completed 5 missions in 4 months.
