I. Introduction
With the popularization and application of modern network, a fast and convenient virtual world for all mankind has been constructed. At present, the network has penetrated into all aspects of peoples lives, people can easily find the necessary information, contact with distant friends, access conveniently and quickly to all kinds of information, and play games through the network. We can see that the Internet has become an indispensable part in our daily life, study, and work.
According to statistics, Chinas Internet users account for 85.8% from 18 to 35 years old, and take up 2.4% under 18 years old (Pang, 2009). Along with the network technology continuing to expand the scope due to the extension of time and space, we must clearly recognize the positive and negative impacts of network on teenagers, study related countermeasures, take advantage of the positive role of the network to reduce the negative effects and guide correctly the juveniles to promote their physical and mental development.
II. The influence of network on the juvenile
1. The positive influence of network on the juvenile
There is no doubt that the network brings plenty of convenience and makes us lead a more comfortable life. As the network has gained great popularity, it is more convenient to attain and share abundant information resources and achieve greatly the communication and cooperation between people, which has a profound effect on people, particularly the juveniles.
First, the network can enrich the juveniles after-school life and promote their personality development. The virtual network world is a free and open democratic society where everyone is equal to be respected, has the right to speak, and can be free to choose, which provide a broad space for the development of freedom and creativity of a person. The abundance and diversity of the network are able to arouse teenager curiosity, broaden their horizons, train their thinking ability, enrich their life and study, and promote the development of mental potentials and the formation of unique personality.endprint
Second, the network can help juveniles develop proper concepts and thoughts. The opportunity to get into touch with the outside world for young people has been increasing and a colorful world has been opened up for the modern people. The open network makes the world turn a “global village” where teenagers can access to network information, and touch different cultures and ideologies all over the world. It not only broadens juveniles horizons, but also breaks the closed and limited concepts, which is conducive to the formation of their diversified concepts and thinking, and the mature of self-consciousness (Xu, 2002).
Eventually, modern network broadens the space to communicate and facilitates the socialization of teenagers. The virtual space created by the network has expanded the scope of communication for young people. In cyberspace, a wide variety of readers, forums, chat rooms, and “virtual communities” allow them to exchange ideas directly and give individuals more opportunities to make all kinds of friends. The establishment of the new mode of interpersonal intercourse and social relations on the network provides a buffer space for adolescent social interaction in the actual society, which is beneficial to promoting the socialization of juvenile.
2. The negative influence of network on the juvenile
In spite of the fact that the network greatly satisfies the juveniles desire for knowledge, broadens their horizons, provides social communication, and enriches their activities, it is difficult to make a rigorous review of network resources, and impossible to verify the released information one by one due to technical reasons. People receive information in an absolutely free space, some useful and useless, correct and wrong, advanced and backward information flooding on the internet, which inevitably brings many negative influences on teenagers (Xiang, 2007).
First, the rapidity and convenience of modern network information dissemination cause information flooding, and all kinds of rubbish information erodes juveniles moral consciousness. Modern network is covered with large amounts of information, including news, current events, technology, data, and so on. However, there are also a lot of spams on the Internet, especially some unhealthy information such as violence and games that are harmful to the growth of teenagers. The juveniles self-control and sense of responsibility are relatively weak, and their ethical and moral concepts are immature, so it is easy to induce immoral behavior and criminal behavior.endprint
In addition, it is possible that the virtual network causes Internet addiction and personality disorder. Some teenagers waste their time and energy and neglect their studies because of improper use of network information (Lang & Wu, 2015). They are obsessed with colorful digital mazes and dynamic entertainment games in virtual environment. Network addiction is the problem of psychological dislocation and action disorder resulting from the failure to realize the role transition between the realistic and virtual world. Due to excessive attention to human-computer dialogue, it dilutes the face-to-face communication and loses the perception of realistic environment and awareness of active participation, and may lead to apathy, tense, withdrawn, unsocial, lack of sense of responsibility and cultivate fraud psychology of the juveniles, which are not conducive to cultivate outstanding individual personality.
III. Education strategies against the negative influence of network on teenagers
1. Improving the network ethics and constructing network legal norms
First of all, it is very indispensable to formulate related network rules and regulate network social behaviors. The negative effects of network are mainly due to imperfect network policies and regulations, nonstandard management and lack of operability. Therefore, it must formulate relevant regulations on the use of network to strengthen the network management. Besides, the government and departments of supervision and management should strengthen the daily management, supervision and inspection, in order to combat unauthorized Internet cafes, advocate network civilization atmosphere and pay special attention to the influence of network on the juveniles psychology and ideology (Yang, 2007).
2. Promoting the quality education cored by personality and ability
It is no doubted that it is important conditions to strengthen ideological and moral education so as to help the juveniles foster noble sentiments, improve self-control ability and promote the healthy use of Internet. Meanwhile, it is important to intensify quality education to cultivate juveniles early personality and resistance. In order to implement quality education, it should first set excellent moral examples, enhance the intensification of moral cultivation, make them understand what the appropriate moral standards are, and guide teenagers to start a new life. If the teenagers develop excellent moral principles, healthy personality, and spectacular social behaviors habits, they will abide by network legal norms, resist the unhealthy information on the Internet, and take advantage of network to select useful information and broaden their horizons by themselves.endprint
3. Intensifying family education to the network
The families should strengthen online education for young students. In addition to school learning, the juveniles spend a considerable part of time at home, so the education and supervision of the family is extremely important. And parents, as the first guardian of teenagers, have the responsibility and obligation to create a more healthy and active network environment for their children. As a result, parents should always pay attention to their childrens physical and mental development, and create a harmonious family atmosphere. The investigation found that most of young students addicted to Internet cafes are withdrawn, introverted, and short-spoken and have a poor family atmosphere. They often lack of care in the family, have little contact with the outside world, and want to look for spiritual sustenance in the fictitious world. Therefore, parents should create a harmonious and happy family environment for their children, and communicate with children more frequently, so that children can always experience the warmth of home, feelings of happiness, which will reduce the temptation to the network.
IV. Conclusion
To sum up, the influence of network on teenagers has been increasing, we should continue to respond the positive effects of network on the physical and psychological development of juveniles, and take certain strategies to relieve negative effects of network. At the same time, we should take the countermeasures to conduct effective adjustment and education, so that the majority of juveniles remain a healthy mentality and perfect personality.
