教学目标:

1.通过阅读大致了解文莱,韩国、英国等一些国家有趣的文化风俗及现象。

2.学会比较,理解中国与其它国家的文化差异并能小组合作提高对文化的认识和领悟。

教学重难点:

1.了解外国的文化风俗,形成自主阅读兴趣。

2.有效小组合作,形成对各国文化差异的认识和理解的积极地态度。

教学方法:

“531”课堂模式下的小组合作,学生展示等教学形式。

教学步骤:

Step 1:新课导入

(和师生互动、自由对话,展示一些图片并交流)

T:Do you know what the festival is today?

Ss:Its Thanksgiving Day.

T:Yes, it is. There are some cultural differences between it and the Spring Festival in our country. Today we will read a conversation about cultural differences between China and other countries.

【设计说明】出示图片,改变英语学习策略;激发主动性参与情感,通过自由对话,让学生走近文章,生出自主阅读学习和交流的内驱力。

Step 2:阅读理解

任务1:回答问题

1. Which country is Waled from?

2. Where does Peter come from?

3. What does Ma Li think about learning about cultural differences?

【设计说明】通过快速阅读,培养学生迅速寻找有用信息的能力,使他们初步对课文的体裁和内容有所了解。

任务2:阅读策略

Step3:小组活动与展示

Nowadays,western festivals such as Christmas and Valentines Day are very popular in China. What do you think of the phenomenon?Should we celebrate foreign festivals?Discuss it with your group members and then write down your opinions.

【设计说明】通过小组活动和展示,让学生更进一步了解和走进西方文化,使其印象更加深刻,同时在明确和面对中西方文化差异时,要从积极欣赏的态度来看待它,从而让教学目标得到更进一步升华,帮助其更好地理解课文。
