The world we live in is becoming more and more intolerable because of environmentaldestruction.Bird flu and SARS are two typicalexamples that environmental destruction may threaten our life.Besides，forest destruction，water and air pollution result in decrease of planting land and unpleasant weather.

Serious as the problem seems，we can come up with some measures to deal with it.Firstofall，theauthoritiesshould adoptthe policyof“sustainable development”，and laws concerning environmental protection should be put into effect and enforced strictly just as our government has been doing.

What’s more，every citizen should realize the seriousness of the problem and make concerted efforts to protect our environment.In addition，planting trees helps improve and beautify the environment.If we take good care of our earth today，it will be more beautiful tomorrow.

我们所居住的世界因为环境污染而变得越来越让人难以忍受。禽流感和非典型肺炎已经成为由环境污染引起的威胁我们生命的两种典型病例。除此之外，森林破坏、水污染、大气污染导致植被数量减少，空气污染严重。

由此可见问题的严重性，我们尝试了很多方法来解决这些问题。首先，政府应该颁布“可持续发展”政策，关于环境保护的政策应该发挥作用，按照我们政府所做的严格执行。

更重要的是，每一个公民应该意识到问题的严重性，同心协力来保护我们的环境。除此之外，植树可以帮助提高和美化自然环境。如果我们今天好好爱护我们的地球，明天就会更美好。
