卢作孚故居
卢作孚故居是在合川文化街芭蕉院建于晚清的一楼一底小青瓦房,面积900平米,古朴沧凉。
卢作孚(1893年—1952年),合川人。始欲教育救国,1925年后创办民生公司,开发渝合航线,开始实业救国。先后创建合川电灯厂 、自来水厂 、机械碾米厂 ,抗战时期合营华蓥公司、大昌铁厂、海鑫钢铁厂和制药厂 ,又办合川瑞山小学、药厂 、医院,建公园、运动场、科学馆、图书馆、日报社,整改市政,安装电话,开辟西山坪农场、天府煤矿,建川北铁路、办三峡织布厂。十年奋斗,民生公司面目一新,成为民国乡村建设模范。1938年武汉大撤退,他冒着日机轰炸,指挥宜昌军工物质日夜抢运重庆,被誉为“中国的敦克尔大撤退”。1944年代表中国出席纽约国际通商会议,横向投资合资企业58家,他任18家董事长。1950年经安排,他自香港回大陆,为新中国航运事业作出巨大贡献。
Former Residence of Lu Zuofu
Former Residence of Lu Zuofu was a tile-roofed house with two floors, that was built in late Qing Dynasty in the Banana yard of Hechuan’s Cultural street, with an area of 900 square meters. It is primitive and desolate.
Lu Zuofu (1893-1952) was from Hechuan. He wanted to save the country though education and he had established Minsheng Company in 1925 to exploit the route from Chongqing to Hechuan, starting to save nation by engaging in industry. He had established electric lamp plant of Hechuan, water plant, mechanical rice mill successively, and during the War of Resistance, he had jointly operated Huaying Company, Dachang ironworks, Haixin steelworks and pharmaceutical factory, and he had established Ruishan primary school of Hechuan, pharmaceutical factory, hospital, parks, playgrounds, science museum, library, daily newspaper offi ce, and he had rectified and reformed municipal administration, installed telephone, and open up farm of Xishanping, Tianfu coal mine, and established northern Sichuan railway and weaving factory of three gorges. After 10-year effort, Minsheng Company has presented an entirely new appearance, thus to become the model of rural construction in the Republic of China. In 1938, under the situation of bombing of Japanese airplanes, he guided the goods of war industry of Yichang to rush transport Chongqing day and light during the big withdrawal of Wuhan, which was hailed as “the China’s Dunkirk Evacuation”. In 1944, he attended New York international trading conference on behalf of China, and invested 58 joint venture enterprises, and he was appointed as the chairman of 18 enterprises. In 1950, he came back the mainland from Hong Kong through the arrangement. He had made a great contribution to the shipping industry of new China.
