Listeners of the popular Canadian morning radio show, Metro Morning on CBC Radio One, heard a new voice co-hosting the show last week with regular host Matt Galloway.
Thirteen-year-old Clare Meurice won a competition to get the one-day hosting job. Meurice reported the weather, introduced some songs, gave an opinion about a movie and chatted with Galloway.
TKN asked Meurice by way of email how she felt about the experience and what she would take away from it.
“I was very nervous! When I arrived at the studio (演播室) I was just shaking, but then people started telling me what was gonna happen and I started to get less nervous and more excited; everyone was really nice!”
At one point during the show, Galloway asked Meurice some questions about living in Toronto. Meurice had to come up with her answers quickly and answered thoughtfully, which can be difficult even for professional (专业的) reporters. She dealt with it without much difficulty.
“I quite enjoyed that part because I feel like since I didnt know that (Matt Galloway) was going to ask me those questions, I spoke more normally than if I was reading a script (手稿) and I think thats a very good thing when youre on the radio,” said Meurice in an email.
She said she may consider a job as a reporter because she found it interesting, “to be right in the middle of all the news and everything thats happening in the world!”
