考点一：until充当连词或介词

until作连词时，后面一般接从句，表示时间。until作介词时，后面一般接名词或代词。

1. She did not know that the man was there ______ he spoke.

A. when B. until C. after D. once

解析：答案为B。句意为“直到那个人说话，她才知道他在那里”。until符合句意。

2. This shop will be closed for repairs ______ further notice.

A. with B. until C. for D. at

解析：答案为B。句意为“在另行通知前，这家店将停业维修”。until further notice表示“在另行通知前”。

考点二：not until结构的倒装

not until结构位于句首，主句应用部分倒装。

3. Not until he went through real hardship ______ the love we have for our families is important.

A. had he realized B. did he realize

C. he realized D. he had realized

解析：答案为B。此题考查not until句型的倒装，其句型为“Not until +从句+助动词+主语+谓语+其他”，主句谓语动词动作发生在从句谓语动词动作之后，用一般过去时态。

考点三：not until结构的强调

解析：答案为A。此处考查not until结构的强调。

考点四：until引导时间状语从句的时态

until引导时间状语从句时，时间状语从句常用一般现在时代替一般将来时，用现在完成时代替将来完成时。

A. will finish B. are finishing

C. are to finish D. have finished

解析：答案为D。此处为not until引导的时间状语从句， 用现在完成时代替将来完成时。

8. Dont open the door until the car ______.

解析：答案为B。此处为until引导的时间状语从句，用一般现在时代替一般将来时。
