广泛的项目涉及十几个主要场地的总体规划及城市设计,达两百多万平方米的综合发展。关键因素在总体规划确定的铁路,南昌西九龙社区及在新界西北的元朗和屯门的对齐方式,以及与现有的地铁和轻轨系统的换乘设计。它包括九个车站 - 南昌,美孚,荃湾西,锦上路,元朗,朗屏,天水围,行人通道连接到现有的城市肌理和替代交通可达。2003年12月,由地铁公司管理的西铁投入运作。总长30.5公里,双轨铁路客运链接南康和屯门的行车时间为30分钟。西铁拥有154部高容量车厢车队,配合频繁、可靠的服务,预计到2011年西铁将可提供每天超过50万人次得客运量。
西九龙站
预期成为香港和大陆之间的重要门户之一,通过九龙南环线,西九龙站将连接起西铁和东铁。设计的关键是其作为交通枢纽的角色。
南昌站
西铁及大屿山机场铁路的主要中转站。它包括6个铁路轨道提供三种不同的铁路系统,并采用了大型的运输终端。一个大型综合性物业于火车站上盖及毗邻范围的发展。
美孚站
西铁和现有的地铁站之间的直接换乘。设计方案提出灵敏的解答,将车站以最小的干扰融入到荔枝角公园现有的景观。一个隐蔽地下的直接链接得以成功扩展。
荃湾西站
西铁第一阶段是境内客运专线,连接西九龙及屯门,预计每天服务超过五十万人次。作为铁路计划的一部分TS-300 提出了上盖和荃湾西站附近的相关物业发展。
锦上路站
旨在将西铁城市铁路一期工程链接西铁第二阶段——北部穿梭扩展,将连接东铁及拟议的新中港过境设施,并融入其乡村背景。站内客运服务设有五轨道及两个高架岛站平台。
落马洲站
落马洲位于深圳河的南岸,是一个跨国总站,以舒缓罗湖口岸的交通挤塞。它与深圳北岸的地铁皇岗站双层次的行人天桥连接。该站的布局可以控制客流量及提供高级别的保安。
The extensive project involved masterplanning and urban design for more than a dozen major sites,amounting to more than two million square metres of mixed development. Key factors in the determination of the masterplans were the alignment of the railway, community concerns, pedestrian connectivity to the existing city fabric and alternative transport accessibility. West Rail, now managed by MTR, came into operation in December 2003. The 30.5km, twin-track, passenger railway links Nam Cheong in West Kowloon with Yuen Long and Tuen Mun in the north-west New Territories and is designed to interchange with the existing MTR and Light Rail systems. It comprises nine stations—Nam Cheong, Mei Foo, Tsuen Wan West,Kam Sheung Road, Yuen Long, Long Ping, Tin Shui Wai, Siu Hong and Tuen Mun—with a journey time of 30 minutes. West Rail has a f eet of 154 high-capacity carriages, combining these with a frequent, reliable service, It is expected West Rail will serve more than 500,000 passengers a day by 2011.
West Kowloon Station
Expected to become one of the most important gateways between Hong Kong and mainland China, it will link up with domestic railways by being a part of West Rail and with East Rail via the Kowloon Southern Link loop. Key to the design is its pivtol role as a transportation hub,
Nam Cheong Station
A major interchange station on the W est Rail and Lantau Airport Railway. It comprises six railway tracks serving three different train systems and incorporates a large transport terminal. A large comprehensive property development lies above and adjacent to the station.
Mei Foo Station
A direct interchange station between W est Rail and the existing MTR. A sensitive design solution was required to incorporate the station into Lai Chi Kok Park with minimal interference of the existing landscape.A direct below-grade link was successfully developed.
Tusen Wan West Development
West Rail Phase I is a domestic passenger line connecting West Kowloon with Tuen Mun, which is projected to service more than half a million passengers daily. As part of the railway scheme, TS-300, an associated property development, has been proposed above and adjacent to TWW Station.
Kam Sheung Road Station
Designed to link Phase I of the urban railway W est Rail with Phase II - a northern shuttle extension that will connect to East Rail and to a proposed new border crossing between Hong Kong and mainland China, It blending into its rural context. A f ve-track station with two elevated island platforms for passenger services.
Lok Ma Chau Station
Situated on the south bank of the Shenzhen River, LMC is a cross-border terminus, designed to relieve congestion at the Lo Wu border. It is linked by a twin-level pedestrian footbridge to Huangang Station, Shenzhen Metro Station on the north shore. The stations layout allows for controlled f ows and high level security.
