“主语+联系动词+表语”是英语五种基本句型之一。要了解和掌握除常见的系动词be以外,还有一些行为动词也可以作联系动词,只是其意义与原来动词不一样罢了。熟悉这些情况,能帮助我们提高英语水平,掌握地道英语表达法。现将这些联系动词列举如下,供大家参考:

一、表示一种特征、情况或状态的联系动词

1.be是I am a worker.

2.feel感到,感觉I feel terrible.

3.look显得,看起来She looks young .

4.sound听起来His idea sounded nice.

5.smell闻/嗅起来The flower smelt sweet.

6.taste尝起来The cake tastes good.

7.seem似乎,好像。着重于内心判断,表示根据某种迹象得出某种主观的,但不肯定的判断,这种判断往往接近事实。

He seems terribly ill.

8.appear似乎是,表示外表给人某种印象,但事实并非如此。 There appeared a castle in the sky.

9.Prove证明是,后来事实表明Discussion proved useful.

10.turn out 结果是The party turned out a great success.

二、表示从一种状态变为另一种状态的联系动词

1.become变得,成为(侧重变化的结果)Suddenly everything around became silent.

2.come变得,成为Our wish will come true.

3.fall变成 (进入某种状态)The old man had fallen asleep when I came into the room.

4.go变得 (多指由好向坏的、不妙的方向转变。正式文体中多用 turn)He went mad.

5.grow渐渐变得……(仅表示由小变大,由弱变强)The sea is growing calm.

6.get变得……起来 (多指短时间的变化,常用于口语,其后常跟形容词或形容词的比较级作表语)The weather is getting colder and colder.

7.run变成The river ran dry.

8.turn变成(侧重性质与状态的变化)His hair has turned grey.turn后名词不加冠词,如果使用become,要加不定冠词。

Do you know that he has turned pilot?

Do you know that he has become a pilot?

三、表示保持某种状态的联系动词

1.keep意为(人或物)保持某种状态Please keep quiet.

2.continue继续 (处于某种状态);仍是 The weather continued hot and dry.

3.lie位于,处于(某种状态)The castle lay in ruins.

4.stay保持,继续是Please stay seated.

5.stand继续存在,保持有效His remarks stand good.

6.hold持续,保持This rule holds good at all times.

7.remain仍然,继续保持We can remain good friends.

8.sit处于某种情况They sat in silence.
